The whole idea behind this Million Monkey thing is to get more voices behind us so we can get the dev's to have to finally give us some kind of attention, even if its a blunt "you're going to have to wait awhile, deal with it".

But to really get the dev's attention, we need a 3 pronged assault here folks.

1) Getting other professions behind us

2) Pushing any and all our issues through Calc so he can get our issues heard on the Correspondant forum.

3) Make our voices heard

We are doing one and two, but we need to do better with number 3. So here is what I propose:

Once per week, in that week'sweekly discussion thread, I'd like all Rangers who are willing to make a short post simply asking for some communication.

An example for the type of post I'm thinking of, would be:

Dear Developers

As a member of the Ranger Community I would like to request that you please give us some communication after months of silence after promises were made. At the very least, could you respond regarding:

And give us a reasonable time frame as to when we can expect the needed improvements to our profession, even if the response is that we have nothing coming for many months to come.

Just one post like that, simple, polite, to the point, from every Ranger who is willing in the current Weekly discussion thread. Then just keep it up every time a new weekly thread is put up until we actually get some real responses. Even if you just write something up in notepad and copy and paste it once per week, it would be a big help.

Between that, the million monkies, and Calcs work, sooner or later we'll have to get a response. And, at the very least, maybe we won't be so forgotten by everyone anymore.

The "weekly discussion" thread on the In Live forum. TH at least reads those and replies once per week in them. Each week they lock up the old thread and start a new one(with the date of the week listed in the current active thread).

Looking at the Ranger count, we have around 120 Rangers who have responded. If we had 120 Rangers posting just once per week in the exact same thread in a short reasonable manner, we'd have to get some sort of reply sooner or later. It would be hard for TH to justify making his comments once per week in that thread but continue to ignore 120 posts all asking politely for the same thing.

I guess we will need to wait until we finalize our top 5, though

. I guess that thread will see a lot of posts soon. I just hope the Devs don't find us too annoying in our politeness

Might fit better in in-concept, with the additional advantage of there being less overall posts in that thread, so we'd be more likely to be seen.

I was originally going to propose the in concept forum; however, the Ranger thread(along with all the other "combat balance" ones) was removed at the begining of this month(they said they were going to anyway). Which means the only other threads in the In Concept forum are ones for other specific concepts(Smuggler revamp, SL revamp, etc).

I'd rather not see us invade someone else's in concept thread just to get our message across. I know we Rangers are better than that. In fact, we're probably a little too nice which is why we've never gotten anything accomplished. But I'd rather go down with dignity than as a troll.

Thats why I proposed the Weekly Discussion thread in the In Live forum. It is really the only "open" medium for us to express our situation beyond our own profession forum, which is why I think we need to utilize it. Our posting in there, while certainly a dignified protest or petition, would be more than acceptable as long as we keep our noses clean and make it a short, polite, but to the point post like I suggested up above.

It would give us another medium to try and get our voices heard, but without making us come off like jerks, which I don't think any of us serious Rangers want. We take a lot of pride in our trying to remain professional, because its one of the only things we've got left.

Yanno, this is all bullsheet.

We were promised stuff 8 frigging months ago. We were told GreenMarine (notable by his absence) was working on player cities... then this...then that...then other stuff.

Meantime, we kept loosing Rangers as our profession languished in a mire of broken promises.

They can nerf us freaking quickly enough, why can't they fix us?

Personally, I think TH is full of crap, has no clue about anything, and will spout platitudes all freaking day long just to quiet people down. He will promise the moon and the stars, what he delivers comes out the south end of a north bound bantha.

I am totally discouraged by the lack of anything but nerfs to our professions, and to professions as a whole. Big deal, they upgraded the Junk Dealers, whoopdefreakingdoo. Yeah, I am going ot carry useless weapons in my inventory to sell for 36 creds per. Give me a freaking break. We won't even talk about the Wookie armor - Basketweaving 101 rejects - does the crap work, never seen any.

Oh well, my prices just doubled, again, as the camp nerf is killing my server. I can sell grindable bs stuff for 10 cpu without effort, as long as it's organic, it sells.

So a hearty TY for keeping the economies messed up. A simple hotfix for harvesting is all we are asking for. Sit on your hands Devs, I can hit another million this weekend, it's gonna be rainy here and I should be on a good bunch, no NASCAR either.

This has already been done. I started a thread in the Doctor forums asking forsupport for increasing harvesting amounts for Rangers. Every medical correspondant (Medic, Doctor, and Combat Medic) are strongly behind our very own Calc for the harvesting increases.
