So I started playing this morning and was 1 box away from master Scout and Novice Rifle. . . so I wander Tat killing little things to get the exp I need before I make novice Ranger. Once I do, I head to the wild of Dant, forgo my speeder and decide to hoof it through the wilds, no armor, and a pea shooter in hand. I'm only a lvl 18 at this point and I come across a lone voritor. I load up all my traps, turn on burst run, and unleash hell on it. I've heard about this P-dart problem, and decide I'll throw that first, it snares as it should, but doesn't root like I heard, so I start throwing everything else I can, knock it down when it gets to close, and keep kiting till it's dead, harvest it, and kept on trucking. (please, nobody explain to me how the P-dart thing works or doesn't, I don't want to know). I finally come across an entire lair of voritors and start pulling one at a time and kill em off. These are lvl 50 critters so I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I can kill maybe 2 before I had to set up camp and remake all my traps. So this is what I've done all day. I didn't see another player all day, I never stepped foot in a city, and I loved every second. I'm only a fledgling Ranger, nowhere near master, but today, I truly felt like a RANGER (that's right, R-A-N-G-E-R, all caps-lock!)

Good play :-)
I find that the lake in the south on Dant makes for some very scenic hunting. Also, when your rifles are a bit larger, Endor is an amazing hunting ground (no player cities).
What server are you on? If Bloodfin, pop a tell to any of the names in my sig and we can go hunting together.

Am I the only one who read that subject line and thought he was going to talk about a different subject?

. . . So there I was. . . sprawled out on a bear skin rug, looking all "come git it!". . . my "math tutor" walked in, asked. . . "have you done your homework?"

If you plan to walk an entire map, I (like I said before) highly recommend Endor. That planet has such a great set of landscapes and creatures, that I lived there for some 2 or so months in game (of course that was partly due to having to get XP from camping for one of the Ranger trees). I killed a couple of Ewoks and lived in their hut for a while, although their pesky relatives kept showing up at the door and getting mad when they found me instead.
Little know fact: Bothans and Ewoks are natural enemies. Or at least me and Ewoks.
