Thread: I had a thought (wishful thinking)

I was having a pretty bad day today playing, couldn't land a single trap, my harvest droid wasn't listening to my commands, getting incapped ALL THE TIME! So as I lay on the ground watching the clouds go by, I started thinking about what I would like Rangers to be able to do in this game. Yeah yeah, so many threads on this already, and i'm sure somebody's already brought this up already, but I had 2 ideas that I would like to se as an exclusive Ranger skill.

Now this first idea, I'm sue the Squad Leaders would love to have, but I really think it belongs to us, and that's a recon skill. I played Guild Wars for awhile and this is just part of the normal game mechanic, but it's the ability to call targets. Think of it in PvP, one squad up against another out in the wild. The Ranger scouts up ahead doing what he/she's supposed to be doing, laying prone up on a hill above the enemy camp. The Ranger is cycling targets loking for the nastiest nasty the opposition has. Now, istead of the Ranger opening fire on that person, and the rest of the Ranger's party having to target the Ranger, and use a special to automatically target the Ranger's target (damn that's a garbled sentence), the Ranger can just "Call" the target, and everyone else in the party now has that person as their target as well. The Ranger is then doing what he/she is meant to do in a PvP sense, and that's performing recon, and relaying targets back to the fighters and meat sheilds in the group.

Second, is an addition to "urban" traps. Nothing we Rangers would lob at the enemy, but maybe something we could plant. Think about it, fighting in a city environement, and the enemy running over traps that could have all sorts of effects and de-buffs.

I don't want to see Rangers get new offensive skills, and I don't really care if we get any special weapons for our profession alone, I don't believe we're a combat profession, and I don't see us offering enough support in PvP to be a straight support class either, none of our skills are really geared towards use against players or NPC's. We take to many SP's to learn enough weapon skills to be tanks either. I'd really like to see the Ranger become a straight "support" class, we may deliver little to none of the actual damage, but our skillset should be indispencible (SP?) to any well run/managed party.

OK, show me support, or flame away. . .

Yes we are Ranger's, not Scout's. We should be able to trap everything...we can track everything.....Just give it time mate, get to know your templet....play, don't grind. I have been a Ranger and a TKM since I started, and I do fine...just learn yourself, enjoy your professions. If and when ya choose to go down the 'path'....to quote an old master, relearn....and enjoy it. There is no "I WIN button", its a game supposed to be fun.
