Ranger Archive

First off, I'm not a Ranger yet. I just started back playing on a new server, so I have a while to go. That being said, my apologies if this idea has popped up before and such.

My idea- What would you guys think about having a system of "hunting lodges" on your server? One or two houses on all the planets that are shared only by fellow rangers? Here's how I see it working:

You find a good spot on Lok. Someplace running rampant with dagnasty critters, and you place a small or medium house on it. The reason for the nastyplacement would be to try and keep the location daunting for other professions in the name of isolation. You then name it something like "Hunting Lodge #1". Then you add your trusted Ranger buddies to the admin list, and dump in some starter maintenance money. Lastly, you email the waypoint to said buddies.

Since I'm not a Ranger yet, I'm not sure what kind of supplies you guys tend to be frequently in need of. The Lodge could be a gathering/storage/resting place for all trusted Rangers on the server. Run out of that much needed food/stimpack/etc? Swing by the Lodge nearest you to see if a brother Ranger has dropped anything off. It would also make a great place to store equipment you've outgrown for the younger Rangers who pass through. Of course, you wouldn't want to leave anything super valuable laying around I imagine. But basic supplies and equipment should be easy to replace if anything were to happen to them.

My favorite part of this idea. Every ranger that passes through could decorate the place a bit. Put up some cool trophies on the wall, leave a cool guard dog behind, that kind of thing. I have seen some really cool fireplaces built in some people's houses, and that would be perfect. With every Ranger that passes through, the Lodge would begin to take on a character unique to that brotherhood and that server. Imagine popping in to Lodge #1, placing a nice trophy on the wall, resupplying, and then kicking back in front of a fire to chat with another Ranger that also happened to be checking in. The Lodges in effect would be the living Ranger history of that server.

I'm not talking about any kind of Guild thing here. Just a loose coalition of Ranger friends sharing a spot where they can hang their hat. What do you guys think? Has this been brought up before? Any ideas to improve the concept? Looking forward to your thoughts!

I meant this more as player created content. Unless I'm missing something, I beleive it could be pulled off with a little elbow grease and a lot of teamwork. It would be fluff of course, but in my mind fluff that Rangers could be proud of because instead of SOE handing them something, they did it themselves. DIY content Ranger-style!
