Well I just started playing a Ranger again myself, and honestly most of our debuff traps dont seem to make that much of a difference when soloing as I can easily get of 1-2 shots with my rifle in the time it takes too throw one. But if I am out hunting with a group I find myself using glow wire traps on nearly every mob at the begning of the fight, and also some state traps if we dont have anyone else too state. When soloing p-darts, both as they are now and when they are fixed, along with mesh when they finaly fix it will probably allways be the traps I use when solo, trap throwing speed just dont make it worthwhile in my eyes.

All of them. Or at least they all still work as well as they have since the CU.

Stick to the p-dart. It is still the best even thought they "fixed" it, and forgot to fix the other ranger problems..poor forgetful devs.
Also as mentioned, the glow wire trap is good too, dropping the combat defences helps your mates in a group.
But the others..bah..don't waste your time. Supposedly fixed in CU..you need a magnifiying glass to see if they work or not the effect is that small.!!!

well, the sonic pulse works. it does reduce damage output of the creature and will up your damage to the creature by maybe 20+pts a shot/hit.
but the even the glowwires bonus is minimal. i suppose if you could stac the sonic pulse and the glowwire you might get a worthwhile damage increase. guess i'll have to test that out.

As he said the glow wire is good too, but stick too using it in a group. I honestly dont think the little damage boost you get after using it are worth wasting 1-2 shots/hits for if your solo. But as for others I also find the Bone spur trap handy when Im just out hunting with a couple of guys, even if its just a slight accuracy loss for the mob it certainly seem to make them miss more, at least from my day-to-day hunting experience on regular critters.

So true, use the glow wire in a group. Not worth missing a couple of shots on mobs to use it.
I'll have to try the bonespur, thanks. I tried adhiesive mesh a few times, didn't work on krayt worth mentioning. Said it took effect but did little.
Something I haven't tried in a year, is stacking a trap with glow wire, like the sonic one or mesh.

Until Patch 20 hits live, pop-tarts are your best friend. All I usesoloare pop-tarts (phenacine darts), and sonic pulses. In groups, glow wires also seem usefull, and I suppose bone spurs. I don't think any other's are worth anything at the moment. Let's hope they fix Adhesive mesh in pub 20.

I am a melee Ranger so in solo combatI allways open combat with a glow wire trap, as the critter is chargeing me it gives me time to use my center of being. In groups I will use the sonic pulse, if I have time, but with a group of 3 or more, the mobs fall so fast its not really worth it. The other dayI mistakenly put some p-darts in the slot i usually reserve for my glow wires, so it slowed the critter down a lot, I found I could throw 2 more traps and cob before he closed to melee range....so that is an option I may use in the furture. SinceI an not ranged I never used the darts as aroot,I want the critter to come to me
. Last but not least, for solo purposes traps are perfect for pulling onebeastie at a time so as not to beoverwhelmed.

Greetings Rangers,
I decided to go back to Ranger and used my token respec for it. I mastered it a few months after launch but I know a ton of things have changed with the CU.
I was wondering what traps I should mass produce. I read the post that says p-darts have been fixed on TC and that adhesive mesh is bugged, but I was wondering if there are any other traps that are good to have.
If you post-cu experienced guys could let me know what traps are good and why I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
