I just find it so frustrating...it seems like a "black hole"..they work in. Promises..promises..then nothing. Then...more promises and promises..then nothing. over and over. Do we have to threaten to leave the game? Take my two accounts and go play elsewhere? I'm too damm stubborn for that.
But I just can't fathom why they let the situation persist for so long? They have never given us an excuse as to why ranger was never fixed or other borked professions for that matter.Beingignored just makes me more angry. If at least they wouldpost for us.".heyRangers, we can't work on this right now..the "suits" tell us we have to work on Jedi." Hey..I"m good with that..it's the being ignoredpart that makes me angry. They can't give us a timetable anymore...we've had those come and go. So I pay little attention to promises and timetables anymore. So perhaps just ignoring the problem will make it go away? I know people like that in the workplace...they don't last long.
Do they think the other professions don't matter anymore? They are just a stepping stone for players to get to jedi? So it really doesn't matter that they are borked, as people will only play them for a short while.
In case anyone at SOE hasn't noticed, and I don't meant our developers here, they have a credability problem.
i've thought about this a lot lately too....especially after the cu and the complete destruction of my second beloved profession....tk. the only conclusion i can come to at this point as to why, i sincerely believe, we're the most overlooked profession in the game, is our devotion to our profession. i think it's definitely an endearing trait to have, but they know we'll stick around, so why deal with us now when they know if they wait a bit, they'll still find us all on the back burner, quietly making small protests about the state of our profession? that and we're most definitely not as loud as the jedi...we don't raise a huge fit every publish where we are, once again, ignored. like i said, we wait patiently as we're told to do because we're mature individuals and whining never got anyone anything...
...unless they were a jedi, of course. ![]()
and i don't think it's a good business practice for the devs to blame the suits atlucasrts for where their attention currently lies.
i doubt that would go over well in any business situation. still, you're right, it would be nice to hear something, even if it was as pitiful as that.
The fact that Riflemen and Jedi have a "hide from radar" ability would seem to indicate that the devs do read the ranger forum.

The don't COMMENT in the forum, which is anothe rmatter entirely and can't be taken as evidence that they don't come look in here from time to time.
Why don't they post? Well, you just need to find any recent post in any forum by Tiggs, Blix, JFreeman or GreenMarine and see what happens when they post a comment about a particualr issue to do with a particular profession's issues. About 15s later the DevStalkers hit in force, flooding the next few pages with the same cut and pasted (in some case well written and in many cases honestly well founded) rants.
They are then followed by the same little cliques of followers bleating their well rehearsed responses.
They are then followed by the inevitable Greek Chorus of doomsayers, naysayers and Fallen Sky merchants.
And somewhere in among all that mess will be a few stilled voices from the profession that just had the Moveable Feast visited on them trying to work out who the heck these hundreds of borderline mental cases are... and just what ARE they doing in their obscure backwater of the boards??
To be perfectly honest, I cringe at the thought that a dev will post here. Because of all the above. Also because some of the red names (I'll not mention which one in particular) have a habit of giving such obscurantist and gnomic pronouncements on the fate of yay skill or yada profession that not only CAN you get 101 different interpretations of what he might have said but you'll get another 101 interpretations on what he might have meant to had said. All followed up by the tears and wails of frustration as people realise they read into the post what they wanted to hear and not what was actually, vaguely, said.
So yep, they read here, they stay in the shadows and then move on to other places. (and that means nothing more or less than it actually says, btw

it's probably just my unflinching optimism, but I hope that the devs did that to work out the bugs in the game mechanic before implementing it into another profession.... *coughRangerscough*
