As yet another mask scent idea, why not shorten the mask scent reapply timer as a player gains more skill in camo? At master Ranger the timer could be non-existent (pre-nerf). If the nerf was because of XP abuse, this method would make it so that it would only be at the pre-nerf state once your character is at a point in development where he/she no longer can get anything from scout xp. Perhaps each level of wayfarer could reduce the timer by 15 seconds or something like that? This would at least give some serious value to the Wayfaring line, and give Rangers an exploring capability that is well beyond master scout.

If they're nerfing it for exp abuse, why not just remove the exp abuse from the equation. Why destroy a useful skill because people abuse it for exp when you can just lower or remove the exp from the equation. I for the life of me can't understand how they come up with some of these "fixes".

I think Vegan actually made sense there. There should be a gap between Master Scout and Master Ranger. And Masking ones scent should take a while too. They upped the time it takes to sample resources, they upped the time it takes to mask your scent. There is a delay with swinging an axe, or shooting your rifle. In some degree, it makes sense. I just hope they balance it 'better' as time goes on.

I think it is more than just stopping people from getting the free xp... I also see this as a way to create a larger gap between rangers and scouts... Even at master scout you fail a lot and must now wait to reapply... whereas when you get up into the ranger skills you fail much less frequently and therefore are much more useful than even a master scout. Whereas before when it failed you could just constantly reapply so the difference between scout/ranger wasn't much.

I think the timer by ranger level is the best idea ive heard for this.
Along with just fixing the exp for it.
