Thread: Setting up camps and no-build zones?
Destroy missions are pretty much in the same perimeter. At least outside daeric. Usually just beyond that you can build a camp.
It's 1km, yes, or not close to buildings or other camps.
However, I've noticed an area north of Wayfar...little bit before the southern krayt skeleton...well outside the 1km mark...that you can't set up camps.
Group died because of that - bunch of aggressive mobs, surrounded, barely any health left...we're a good 2km from Wayfar and it says "No-build zone." Could not figure it out. No other cities around.

On Talus NE of Dearic it seems like you have to get WAY farther than 1k meters in order to build. I have spent lots of time in areas of flat ground well outside the 1k radius with no POIs on my radar at all looking for buildable land only to be told I am in a no-build zone.
I recently took a trip to Mos Eisley, Tatooine and it seemed like the buildable zone is much closer to town than it was around Dearic, Talus. Anyone else notice this? Or maybe it just seems like a longer trip on Talus since you have to navigate around so many reds LOL
depends on what city some citys ya can build 500 m out others like deric is around 2.5k out
One thing I've noticed is that there seems to be a correlation to where you can place a building and where you can camp... if you've ever placed a structure, you see the overhead map, and there are clearly terrain areas that are yellowed out as not allowable. You can usually tell how close you can build a camp to a city simply by looking for player built structures... as they follow the same rules... Simply run out of town in any direction, and as soon as you see a harvester of some sort, you can most likely plop down a camp.
The distance from buildings is a good thing (besides a simple terrain mechanic) as it prevents you from getting camp experience while going inside your house to craft.
