I haven't noticed a difference in my running/crawling speed since Exploration III and I'm in the 2nd tree in Ranger ... does anyone know the *exact* details regarding this skill in what it's supposed to do or how it works exactly?

Broken or not implemented yet, like the rest of the Ranger skills.

I believe the problem is, terrain movement speed is capped at the Scout level, so all bonuses gained at Ranger level essentially do nothing. I was hoping for an overall speed boost myself, over all terrain - but I have no clue how they're going to solve it in the end.

Bonuses in the Ranger tree do have an effect -- they make you crawl faster.

If you highlight Terrain Negotiation on your list of mods on your skill window, it actually tells you that Terrain Negotiation 0-50 is an increase to speed climbing rough terrain such as mountains. 51-100 is an increase to crawling speed. Even at a Terrain Negotiation speed of +65, I have noticed an increase in my crawling speed. I am confident by the time this reaches 100 I will be a formidable crawler indeed

I have done some testing with some Master Scout friends on the Kettemoor server. It does appear to have a marginal increase over the Master Scouts. I can usually beat them up a dead straight uphill walk. Swimming is also noticeably different being able to put about 3M between us in a small stream crossing. Also, I can crawl a lot faster than they can; however, I am not sure how much my Rifleman profession is contributing to the crawl speed.

1-50 helps you move over terrain faster.

50-100 is suppose to make you crawl faster.

I know it works because I was grouped with a guy once that could crawl circles around me.

So... here's a question...

If you are a Master Ranger, and Master Squad Leader, and you are in a group... wouldn't your terrain negotiation be:

Master Scout = 50
Master Ranger = 50
Master Squad Leader = 60

I guess a subquestion would be, do you give yourself the terrain negotiation skill as a squad leader in a group? Secondly, what if there is a ranger already in the group? Do they get the +60 bonus you are giving? Or is it as simple as saying, there is a 100 cap on terrain negotiation, wherefore, as a ranger, the terrain negotiation bonus from a squad leader is diddly squat to you.

Because if you do get a commulative bonus... that would mean that you could have 160 terrain negotiation... which would mean what? You crawl as fast as you run????

I echo the sentiments, that I have seen no significant change in "crawl" speed as a ranger with wayfaring.

I'd personally like to run a little faster rather than crawl a little faster... it just fits the idea of a scout/ranger better than crawling around at 1mph faster...

Camouflage increases the success rate of mask scent.
