I was just wondering if the resource stats used for making camo kits have any effect on the kits. I made some for a crafter guildie of mine and they broke every time he went near a red mob. The resources i used were all low OQ.

Thanks in advance

You can experiment on them... OQ is the only statistic to look for... but it does not affect the Quality (how often it breaks).... it only affects the number of charges in the kit. I believe perfect 1000 OQ resources would get you 20 uses per kit.

The only thing that resources affect is the number of uses per kit. Better resources= more uses.

The effectiveness of the kit comes in the form of the camoflage mod that Rangers get. Your crafter friend is getting his broken because he has zero camoflaging skills. That means his camo is essentially useless. The only chance it has of staying up around high-level mobs is if a Master Ranger applys it, because the effectiveness is based upon who applied the camo. So if you apply it to him, he'll see better results than if he does it himself. a level 1 crafter will rarely be able to hide from a high-level creature because they have zero camo mods.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Anyone know if a character with no camo skills in their template but +camo CA's would get a better success rate? I'm bidding on a +15 Camo CA in hopes this works for my Jedi. If no one else knows, hopefully I will soon enough.

I think it depends on whether or not double clicking on the camo kit checks your camo mod or if you have to use /conceal to get the benefit from your camo mod. It's an interesting question, though.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't modify a skill you don't already have.

That makes sense, but applying camo kits is no longer relegated to just Rangers. It seems that Terrain Neg. CA's work, even without novice scout, so I'm thinking Camo one's might as well. There's no "skill" involved like with creature harvesting apparently. I can see it going either way, but I'm not convinced of either. I'm not sure I'd notice a difference anyway, but with +15 I'm hoping I do.
