Thread: Unique Quests

I was over reading the Jedi forums when I stumbled upon a person who, much like myself, seemed to enjoy the game for more than just the "guess what ub3r l00t I g0t" game. She (at least the character is female, I believe) was telling people about quests that can be found in the game. Things that I've never heard of and was very interested in. That got me thinking about missions that some of us have done that may not give great rewards but are well-written and fun bits of gameplay that most people don't take the time to do. So I'm going to say we should collect these missions and create a list of excellent missions. No need for a guide, half the fun is finding it for yourself, but at least putting these quests on the map should be good.

These missions don't have to be hard, or even that rare, but should simply be fun quests that you think every Ranger should do, simply for the joy of finding quests that make your gameplay fun and more than just a grinding game. I'll go ahead and start:

The Missing Droid Quest: this quest involves several missions both ground and space-based (space ones are skipped if you don't have JTL) and gives you a unique reward. The story isn't far-reaching or great, but it does involve trying to solve a mystery and it is a very fun quest, all in all.

The Borvo Missions: While most people know about this, this set of missions which takes you accross multiple planets and involves many shady dealings in darkplaces is a very well-written quest that has you acting as a spy and gives a few unique decorative items that you can keep. It also involves a bit of a choice about 2/3rds of the way through. You have to chose which reward will be yours. One is a weapon...one is...something else. Vey interesting, as a choice is really quite fun in a game like this.

The Mos Taike Missions: In Mos Taike, a small little town on Tatooine, you will find a bunch of civilians in trouble. One will send you on a small series of quests. The reward here is purely decorative, but is cool enough that I insist on completing all of these quests on each toon I create. The actual missions aren't that difficult, but you will feel like you're doing something good, as each quest is for the betterment of these peoples lives. A very decent set of quests that provides a few hours of enjoyment.

The Mat Raggs quests: a series of fairly easy (and slightly repetitive quests) that see you helping a Hunter. A very Ranger-y quest if I do say so myself. This is a single-planet quest, but it's fun and the reward (which again is purely decorative) is exceptionally cool. A very great quest that I did way back in the day.

Okay, gang. Tell everyone about the cool quests you've done. These don't have to give great loot, or anything exceptional. I'm just looking for quests that were fun, well written, unique, or provided something different that the usual "grab missions, kill stuff, get paid" routine. Great loot, silly loot, whatever- if it's something that's fun and different, I'd love to hear about it. i'll create an actual list once we get a bunch going.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I hate to be vague with this but Id rather not give away too much and its been a while sinceI ranthis quest.

The first quest starts in theDaederic Star Port on Talus. In the main Terminal, near the front entrancesthere is an NPC with a quest icon. He mentions that he knows of some strange activities at a sacred barial site. When you get there he contacts you and instructs you to "remove" the grave robbers. After that he gives you the location of two people who have removes items. one is in the Daederic Star Port, the other target is at the Rebel Weapons Research Center (POI). After eliminating the targets and retrieving the stolen items you return to the quest guver for a reward of 10k.

I've done both Mat Raggs and the Mos Taike quests. I started the Mos Taike quest as a noob, so I was fine up until the part where you're sent to kill a load of tuskens . I managed to complete them a few weeks ago and the rewards are on display in my SoroSuub .

There's also the Talon Karrde quest which starts in the Doaba Guerfel cantina. I can't remember getting much of a reward as such and the missions were of the deliver/ambush style, but it is nice to speak to one of the most famous smugglers in the galaxy.

A set of quests I tried recently were the ones given by the NPCs at the Gungan Sacred Place. They start with Rep Been, who gives you missions which send you halfway across the planet to meet NPCs. I think one was a delivery/ambush mission and the other 2 were...wait for it...ESCORTS. Yup, you have to escort them halfway across the planet. I wasn't that bothered about it since I'm used to carrying out mundane tasks like this and I've built up a lot of patience (I accept tracking missions ). So after about 1 and 1/2 hours doing the first escort I reached the Gungan Sacred Place and picked up my 'reward'. Oh and by simple use of Pythagoras with the coordinates from the 2 screenshots you'll find that the total distance covered for one escort mission was 6151m (that's across the mountains too). I'm not sure why I did the other one...I just felt like I must finish what I had begun. And sure enough, there was a 50 credit reward for that too .

Oh, and another thing about the Gungan quests which you might have noticed in the screenshot. They're all bugged. Rep Been doesn't actually say anything when you accept/end missions and the only responses you can give are "Yes" and "No". I think I got a system message saying "Missing text string" too. After the Rep Been missions I was still unable to talk to Boss Nass or the other guy. It's rumored to be based on your Gungan faction standing, but one guy said he'd worked up a faction standing of 5000 and he still couldn't get him to talk . I guess it would be best to stay away from these quests unless you're really bored and feel like going for a nice stroll in the Naboo countryside .

That Talus Graverobber Quest is a new one for Publish 21. At the end, it makes it sound like there may be more to it after this part.

I cannot praise the devs enough about the Secret of the Syren Story Arc. If you haven't started this yet, head to your appropriate faction's mission starter, and check out this Story Arc. These have been getting better and better with each chapter, with chapter 4 being loads of fun. i just loved rolling up to the Rori Estate, spotting the Black Sun Seige, and running around the gardens and walkways picking off the Black Suns 1 at a time until they were all gone.

And here'sa sort of Rangery type of set of quests (i haven't finished them yet, so there may even be some sort of reward). There is an NPC on the outskirts of one of the NPC cities on Rori (wish i could remember which city). I think his name started with "Lord" and he is talking to you about hunting, and helping out some troubled hunters.

If you're Imperial, the Endor Painting series of quests is nice, and ends with a GREAT looking painting. This starts from the small Imp base on the mountain just outside of Bestine.

Also, the Black Epsilon Imperial Pilot squad has some great stories along the way as you train up your pilot skills.

The Warren - Most people speed through this real fast to get their 2 content badges to get Force Sensitive, but there's a great story about what's going on down there, so head there and enjoy that POI, but be careful, as the Turret is still bugged i hear, so burstrun past it.

And here's the ultimate in Ranger quests:

Head to Bestine, and Talk to Quakee in the cantina. he is a Rodian that is pretty much half cyborg. he gives a great series of quests that using Areatrack will greatly help with.

So there's a bunch of quests to check out, should give you many hours of enjoyment.

Oh, and I nearly forgot the Zicx-Bug Bomb quest. It starts with Goru Rainstealer who's just around the side of Narmle starport. He sends you to Tatooine where you're given a couple of missions before having to face the mighty Sarlacc (the reward from one mission helps you survive there). The main reason I did the quest was because the Zicx-Bug Bomb sounds like a trap, but unfortunately it turned out to be a grenade .

The entertainer theater quests are by far the most unique, interesting, and challenging quests in the game. You can pick them up at any theater manager who is backstage in Coronet, Theed, and probably somewhere on Tatooine. They involve you following the requests of a few judges, then having a certain number of other players watch or listen to you entertain. Then you go back talk to the audience and have to perform what they want you to in order to satisfy them with your performance. Then you have to do it over 3 times with larger numbers of Players, and then audience members. All the different elements are challenging, and amazingly unique. I love the player interaction required, the audience interaction during your show, etc. If you ever find yourself with an opportunity to be entertaining, definately try these out, they're brilliant.

I just did the Valarian quest, which was rather intriguing from a spy/hunter sort of mission set. I mostly just wanted the mystical orb for my house, but the plot was well written and the missions pretty well lined up in increasing difficulty (even though the higest you hit is like a lvl 25 or 30). It's fairly short, but it's interesting to do seeing as I had already done Jabbas, but if the Valarians are the only other competition on the planet, where's their badge of trust? Thought it only appropriate to do them a service.

There's also a neat little one in Mos Taike with the Mayor, next to the cloning center, where he has you pick up his wife because she might have been harmed by Tuskens. It's pretty neat when you meet her and realize she killed the Tuskens herself and just has a worrysome husband, heh, but it's just your basic escort mission that has a couple scouting/attacking missions after it. Really no loot, I believe, but still a fun enough quest for its purpose. Might as well help a mayor when you can, I say.

Very nice idea btw =) Although if anyone has any spoilerish parts to add to their posts it'd be nice if they'd mark em so (for those of us... well ok me... maybe more people like me? who like to avoid spoiling the surprise ) Anyway, just a thought.

yeah, I've tried to be as vauge as humanely possible, and when I type up the final list, it won't give away details as to what the reward is, but it will give a vauge area where the person should start looking. An example for the Borvo missions would be "look for a Hutt in Moenia".

I liked doing the nightsister missions, just be sure to have lots of positive nightsister standing before you start!

can you do the missions with a low (-5000) standing? or is it that they just attack you on site?

Speak to the lady in the back of the Dearic cantina on Talus.

:shifty:

Actually there are three quest giving NPCs in the cantina that i remember and I enjoyed all their quests.
