Ok, I'm going Master Ranger with a new character, and I was wondering which other master combat profession people would recomend to accompany it. From what I can see, Master Riffles seems to be the most popular (at least in the rangers I know), but was wondering if anyone here wanted to give any alternatives that might be helpfull to the rangers profession.

Any combat profession goes well with Ranger. Really. There's probably 100 other threads on the same topic, and they all say the same thing. If you like Rifles, go rifles. If you prefer going toe-to-toe with creatures (which generally happens no matter what prof you pick), go with a melee prof. There's no single combat profession that's "better" for ranger, they all work well. It's really a matter of what you personally find interesting to play.

The only caveat I'll make is that if you want combat professions that leave you more SP availalbe when you've mastered Ranger and <combat prof>, you'll be limited pretty much to BH or CH. I believe they each allow you somewhat more than the 4 SP That most every other elite combat prof allows, when you're also a Master Ranger.

I am working on MBH/MRanger and it does leave a few points for some Medic skills when you are done which can be useful.

Alternatives that might be helpful also include dropping Ranger and pickup 4040 Scout or 2040 Scout and put the rest in combat clases you enjoy then role play that you are a Ranger or call tyourself one but in the end you will actually be a better Ranger if you are not actually one in profession.
