Do not know for sure. As far as I know for traps and camps, if you can't make it, you can't use it.

Not entirely true Squid. I know for a fact a scout with survival 3 can use an improved campkit, the one you get at survival 4. I've been wondering myself whether a master scout could use an advanced campkit. I have yet to meet a master scout willing to try though.

I just tried it as at theMaster Scout level (with no Ranger skill boxes) and I can indeed deploy the High Quality Camp Kit.

There you go everyone, a definitive answer to this one... I'll be back in a second to answer the trap question.

As for the traps, I can use the Flash Bomb trap with only the Master Scout skill (and no Ranger skill boxes).

So apparently, we can use the trap on the next level above our current skill.

Was looking through the Scout forum and was wondering if it is possible for a master scout to use the Novice Ranger Camp Kit you guys can make? Anyone tested this? I have a feeling it's no, but since there is a camping bonus of +10 (or 15) for master scout and only a +5 for Novice Ranger, it seems like it could be close.

But heck, you can usually use the camp unless you can make it.
