Thread: Tracking skills
I have been climbing up the ranger tree quite rapidly lately and have been trying my tracking skills. earlier today we were out on tatooine looking for a badge and I didn't detect anything, however about 50 meters later we ran into a rebel camp with all sorts of npc's in it. The only thing I can assume is that you only pickup NPC's once a player walks by and activates the spawn. Well.... this totally craps the point of tracking npc's for me because there's no way i can find the npc's I need before someone else finds them and does the badge and deactivates the the camp! Personally I think that shouldn't be, what do you all think?

This has been addressed many times before. Some people/camps/mobs don't spawn til you get within a certain range. It's a fact of the game. Areatrack won't help you in the badge quest unless someone else hit the camp spawn limit and didn't notice it spawning. Fat chance of that, but a chance.
Don't think areatrack is 100% accurate either, it's not magical, it's based on your skills. Even Master Rangers get spawned upon... it's how therules are set up,we have to adjust.
The fact that/AR doesn't work on the badge quest levels the playing field for the non-Rangers trying to get their badge. It would be way too easy for a Ranger to get his, while a Chef could be out there for months.
Personally, Ithink the badges have little to do with anything, imho, as non-combat people plain can't get em.
