The other day I was listening to one of my Friends who was running faction missions. He was talking about a sniper who liked to set up campand pick off the people with TEFs. This was easy for them cause they didnt show up on radar at all to my understanding.

Of course I answered to my friend, "Well I could find them." Using player tracking, if the z-axis didnt mess it up, I could get a general loc on an opposing player if I had their name. The thing that occured to me was this really didnt help because they would still not show up on the radar. So I got to thinking. Should Tracking actually counter the sniper so that their cover ability breaks when someone tracks players in the area.

Now I think this should be totally for Pvp so this would only happen if an opposing faction Ranger who was overt came into the area and used the Player Track on an opposing Rifleman who was also overt. That way there is no griefing of bystanders.

I thought this could be fair, it would be a counter people could use if they knew there was an opposing Sniper in the area. I mean Rangers with Player Tracking (Only Master and Tracking IV) I"ve seen are still pretty rare. So it would actually be pretty difficult to always have one around.

I'd love your guys input on this, especially if you are Rifleman. I don't want to create a nerf but I thought this would add a bit more depth and strategy to the GCW.

If people think this is a good idea I'm going to shoot it over the the Rifleman Forum and let it get torn apart Cause they will certainly see all the holes in this idea better than me.

There is no thing such as a rifleman not visible on Radar. What a "sniper" (if rifleman really can be called snipers) does is to stay close to NPCs of the same faction and is therefore hard to spot. And yes, tracking of course helps with this.. but there is nothing that needs to be added as there is no real cover.

I have personally tested this. The master rifleman is on radar, even using his conceal and having been concealed with a camo kit. I can find him with areatrack, even from a couple hundred meters away, well out of rifle range. If the dude thinks he is off radar, he is only off his rocker, lol. No invisible players yet.
