Thread: a tracking question from a wouldbe Ranger
just wondering.
how does player tracking work?
how far away can it track a person? ect.
Depends on your level. As a Master, I can see any player within a 500m radius of me... essentially a one kilometer circle. You start out with a low range and no directions and as you progress, you get more precise readings.
I am assuming you mean Players as in real people. NPCs are different. Sometimes you can't "see" them on areatrack as they don't spawn until you get close to them... they are not there to track.
And don't try clicking on a name and think you will get a waypoint. Thank you Devs for keeping this at least semi-player powered, instead of the "duhhh, follow the arrow...heh heh".
Hope this helps

yea it helped ![]()
reson for asking was to see if it could be used to track down a player.
Yeah, 4th box in ranger tracking gives you the ability to track players and see the direction and range to them.
Only 500 meters thou, so you need to use /who XXXXX, and know where the area he is in, then its usually a piece of cake to find them
Can be fun sometimes ![]()
