Thread: Making Master Ranger more attractive

My ideas posted here are submitted with the idea thata number ofrangers (but by no means all), never aspire to become a Master Ranger. I include myself among that number. There are reasons that I, among others, choose not to train in certain portions of the Ranger skill tree. The most obvious is that there is no reason for me to train in a skill if I will most likely never use it.

Interestingly, my personal play style dictates that I will probably never Master any profession, but rather I will function as a jack of trades. I can be happy with that. However, if there were enough reasons for me to aspire to become a Master Ranger, I am sure that I would happily grind through the untrained skill trees in order to earn that title.

For example, earning Master Ranger these days grants me a few additional bonuses to my Ranger skills ... a cool prestigious title... oh, and a whopping Camo kit. Nah... that's ok, personally I can do without for the time being.

However, lets say for the sake of discussion, that something was done in which a few (or several) bonuses were granted for being a Master Ranger, or heck... even a few additional bonuses for mastering each individual skill tree. Thennnn... I might well be persuaded to go Hardcore Ranger.

My Ideas:

Enable Master Ranger to have a tracking system which allows you to visually see the tracks / scent of the creature or NPC that you are tracking, so that you won't have to keep Area Tracking in order to get a direct fix on what you are tracking.

Enable either Master Ranger or someone skilled in Ranger Traps IV to utilize a trap with an AE Bleed effect on a random HAM slot. (I'll even settle for some other trap)

I think that the idea for Modular Camp could very well be added from Survival ? I - IV, with possibly Master Ranger getting a schematic for a camping village utilizing several modular camps.

Enable Master Rangers to Forage up toa stack of 5 at a time

Allow Master Rangers more variety in their fishing methods (fishing spears, fishing traps, fish nets, etc.)

Give Master Rangers the ability to harvest more than one resource per creature. Or, to add more flavor, enable Master Rangers a skill check to harvest a rare resource from creatures.

Anyway, these are my thoughts. I would definitely like to see more added content near the top -- which would persuade me to focus my attention on Mastering something I really do enjoy.

Thank you,

Tevoo Rerio

Personally I hate being the type of ranger that only takes the meat and leaves the hide and bone to rot on the carcass. If we are master rangers, then yes we should be able to

HARVEST ALL THE MATERIAL

It just makes sense. I would never while hunting....in real life, kill a deer, grab the antlers and leave the body. I would take the body, cook the meat, use or sell the leather to some one who could use it and mount the antlers.

I wish i could use the organs/ sinew/ etc...but im not that talented and I hunt very infrequently. As a Ranger I believe that we should be able to harvest all of the resources available.

I like the follow the scent reminds me of Toucan Sam following fruit loops lol

Modular camps and great foraging ability.... of course.... That would be nice. And then the bug of the rare item would never bug us again.
