Ok Rangers, we all know there are certain times when we don't want to /areatrack that 20k order from our local Doctor. Speeders are helping the cause but we all know /dismount /areatrack /mount gets old after awhile. I been trying to concentrate on manipulating the Destory Missions to give up the correct creature. Here are the current things i've been trying and the results (please add to this thread for the good of our Profession):

1) Equiping your worst weapon (my hands in this case) - difficulty lvl 5 - not even worth hunting usually

2) Equiping a weapon while having Master Marksman but not the speciality - lvl 11

3) Equiping a weapon I have a Speciality in (Pistoleer) - lvl 14

4) Equiping my best weapon (Lightning Cannon box 2) - lvl 25

I was told in passing that you can't get a mission lvl above 25 by yourself, don't know if its true or not.

Now for the manipulating... I group with my mount (Spat) it knocks a lvl off the difficulty... sometimes useful when looking for just the right creature ( ie Sickle rasp appear at lvl 10, not lvl 11).

Grouping with a Master CH who pulls out the big baddies - lvl 50 but with the same creatures I was getting at lvl 25. Same thing if he group'd a lesser creature just lower lvls - lvl 40 and lvl 30 in this case.

After the smaller difficulties (below 15) it seems to use increments of 1, and after lvl 15 - increments of 5. I'm having a hard time nailing down the difficultly level of the mission to the level of the creatures. There don't seem to be an exact logic to it. Like I can get sickle rasp missions with difficulty 11, while the sickle rasps are level 8/7. Whereas level 25 missions usually contain creatures between 15 and up (slight logic there).

What does everyone think? Help me flesh this thread out. (PS I'm mainly writing this out of frustration, since I'm hunting avian meat on Rori and while the vir vur are trackable it takes time and I'm only able to get missions for Rasp, which don't yield alot)

I feel your pain! We had a real good shift of Avian on Rori last cycle on Radiantand I hada high paying contract for the stuff....little did I know what a pain the arse it was going to be. I ended up gathering 27k units in about 3 days and probably got 20k of it in the last 2 days alone. I was also trying to manipulate the mission terminals to get Vir Vur missions but they were VERY rare.

One bit if advice I can add, and I dont know if it is the same on each server, but I easily found Vir Vurs and the even better Midnight Vir Vurs rather common just by using area track in the western mountain range of Rori. Their natural spawns seem most frequent in the mountains north west of Narmle. Now, I dont know if animal spawn patterns are the same from server to server but I would think that it would be close to the same. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.
