Whoops, forgot to answer your second question.
The way that the current tracking skill works is to tell you what animals, NPCs, or players are within about 500m or so. At novice ranger, it's apparently limited to something like 125m and you can only find creatures with it. At each level of tracking, the range goes up and you gain more abilities with at, such as the general direction (NW, SE, S, E, etc.), NPCs, and players, in that order. So basically, when you get the ability to see NPCs that are in the vicinity, if there are any Dark Jedi Masters within the range that /areatrack works for you, it should list it. I say should because it's fairly buggy because of the way that spawns work.
Okay, well your best bet is to grind the best camo kit you can makein practice mode if you have Wayfaring I (or above). Otherwise, you'll want to grind the best camp you can make in practice mode. Either way, you should grind while sitting in your best camp, but only for about 30-45 minutes if you are alone. You won't get the maximum wilderness xp in that amount of time, but you'll get close to the max and waiting another 15-30 minutes for that last bit of xp isn't worth it.
Basically, you want to craft whatever camp or camo kit has the most resources and do it in practice mode. But unless you've got boat-loads of the specific resources needed to make the different camo kits, your best bet simplicity wise is to just grind camps as fast as you can click. For each High Quality Camp (which you can make at Novice Ranger), you need 30 hides, 15 bones, and 5 metal. I can't remember the exact amount of wilderness xp you get for making one of these in practice mode, so I'll say 100 just to keep it simple. If all you did was grind camps while in camp and you could make about 5 camps per minute using two or three crafting tools, you could concievable start with zero wilderness xp and get to Frontiering II (where you get your next camp)in about an hour and a half, using about 7350 hides, 3405 bones, and 1135 metal. Doing the same thing to get to Frontiering IV (guessing about 150 xp per crafted camp), you'd need about 36080 hides, 22550 bones, and 18040 metal, for a grand total of about 43430 hides, 25955 bones, and 19175 metal. But this is only true if you started out with all of these resources already in hand and crafted 5 camps per minute for 4.5 hours straight while sitting in two High Quality Camps for 45 minutes each and four Field Base camps for 45 minutes each.
In reality, it will probably take less than this because you'll be probably be crafting traps for the advanced trapping line, which gives some wilderness xp, but not nearly as much as camps do, and because you'll probably be out hunting for the resources and sitting in camps to heal. But all of this will take a good deal longer than 4.5 hours.
Hehe, you're welcome! ![]()
See, I knew there was something useful I could do at work!
