Thread: New proposed skill for Ranger class.
I I have mentioned this briefly in previous posts of mine and others may have suggested it as well, but here is an idea I've been throwing around in my head.
We as Rangers don't really have any special attacks against animals that do any significant damage. We have a couple traps that do some damage to certain pools but most of those traps were achieved at the scout level. With our extensive knowledge of creature anatomy it would only make sense that we would know just the right place tohit in order to inflict maximum damage on a creature. My suggestion is that we get a '/critical attack' on creatures. This is basically a special attack that can be performed with any weapon, ranged or melee, and it has a very high damage multiplier.
I think it's rather silly that the commandos and bh's are able to drop creatures so much quicker than us master rangers who are supposed to be masters at hunting creatures. Of course their weapons are much more powerful, but we have knowledge as our weapon. I don't know how many of you read the extended universe novels but in "Tales from Jabba's Palace" thereis a story that has a master hunter whois able to kill a Krayt Dragonwith one shot from a blaster. Now realistically I don't expect that this special attack would be on THAT level, but I must say it was at least my inspiration. To stay in balance with the nature of the Rangers I would even say that this attack ONLY work on creatures, like our traps do currently. But it's important that it works with all weapons and the damage multiplieris far higher than any of the current special attacks used by the other professions.
What do we think? Feedback welcome
Good idea...I actually read a post not too far back that mentioned something along the lines of using the animals we know so well....being rangers and all...and extracting certain poisons from them. Utilizing this into a special ranger bow or other weapon. I can't remember where it was posted...but it was some really original ideas along this line.
I still want some economic help from the dev's. I think we should be able to craft some camps and tools/traps/camo that other non-ranger/scouts can use. That way, only we can make it...and everybody can use it...good $$ for us.
