Thread: Saying goodbye, sort of
I understand how you feel though. If it helps any, I gave up mastery to try some other things out, and sadly, I don't miss it at all. I too will keep tracking, but I realized after a short while that there wasn't actually anything to miss beyond seeing creature damage.
Good luck, Quas.
Even before the game, in the beta and from the start of the retail version I always planned and did play a ranger. I wasn't first but probably one of the first Master Rangers on Eclipse and even though we had a lot of problems and not so usefull skills I never even thought about changing. But now after several months I'm going to forfeit my master title and it's acctually with a heavy heart.
Usually when I meet other master rangers there's a quick "Hi", /bow or /wave from them.. something you don't see with other professions. Our forum is also one of the friendliest.. as we don't want to be the baddest and meanest fighter or artisan we don't scream for things to get fixed or features to get added.. but rather sit back and are happy at what we get.
I can't give up my ranger profession, as I can not live without tracking. But Wayfaring, Frontiering and trapping is unfortunatley something I have little use of in most situations. Sure, the large camps look cool but provide little. The trapping helps to make sure that saving snare trap sticks.. but it's still mostly scout traps I use. And wayfaring got conceal.. but unfortunatley with the new vehicles and mounts conceal is not that important for travel any more.
I would still be happy with these skills.. as I've been over the last months.. but at the moment I'm bored and need to try something new.. but as I can't leave tracking I can neither leave scout. I'll probably be around in the forum and I might very well pick up Ranger again.. who knows how long I can be without my title.
But it still feels a bit sad as I've had it for so long...
