To all of you who know me, Arvera Srai'Tah, I'm afraid I have some bad news. It appears that my time in this galaxy has come to an end. For a variety of reasons, I decided to cancel my account last night. So, I'd like to take a moment to thank a few people who have made my Star Wars gaming experience such a fun ride.
1.) Mallory - I can't thank you enough for all the help that you gave me back when I was struggling with Scout. Our group hunts were always a blast, and I will always remember you and your friendliness to me. As one Master Ranger to another, I /salute you!
2.) Vacin, Fase, Zarael - You guys rock!
3.) CharlsWhiteFeet aka Charls - Thanks for all your help with the guild and for making me one rich little Bothan. I appreciate how you always put up with my stupid questions concerning FTP and the Antarian Rangers. Rangers Lead the Way!
4.) Gelotri, Ranger Corps, and the Antarian Rangers - Thanks to all of my guild brothers for making my short stay with you so much fun. From the group hunting on Lok to the general feeling of comradeship, I'll miss you guys.
If I forgot anyone, please accept my humble apologies.
And now, please indulge me as I tell you the story of what becomes of the Bothan known as Arvera Srai'Tah :
Arvera Srai'Tah continued to run missions for the Rebellion. His time and service proved beneficial to the Rebels as he utilized his Ranger scouting abilities to track troop movements on his home planet of Kothlis, one of the moons orbiting the Bothan homeworld of Bothawui. His efforts allowed Rogue Squadron to destroy several hidden troop and spy facilities located across Kothlis.
Arvera's efforts attracted the attention of the Alliance's High Command. Arvera received orders to report in to the new base at Hoth. Excited, Arvera looked forward to the chance to demonstrate his talents and skills and to prove himself to his superiors.
Destination : Echo Base on the sixth planet of the Hoth system
Arvera reported in at Echo Base with one of the first scouting expeditions to survey the surrounding area. When he wasn't out training with new snowspeeders, he was out with one scouting group or another.
Then one fateful day, a meteorite hit the ground close to Echo Base. Luke Skywalker, the then un-trained Jedi Knight, disappeared. Arvera searched for him until the cold forced him back to the base. When he arrived, however, he discovered the doors to the base had already been closed, trapping him out in the cold. Once again utilizing the skills that he had acquired in the Antarian Rangers, Srai'Tah managed to craft a small shelter and survive the harsh, unforgiving Hoth night.
A few days passed. Then the Imperials discovered Echo Base. The walkers began to land, and the base began to evacuate. Arvera piloted his snowspeeder in what became known as the Battle of Hoth. Srai'Tah flew well, downing several AT-ST's and coming close to wrapping one of the AT-AT's. It seemed that everything was going well for Arvera until he was shot down. His left arm broken, he pulled out his trusty blaster, and tried to make a run back to the base to help hold off the snowtroopers. A blaster shot to the leg dropped him to the snow. Lifting his head, Arvera saw a squad of Imperial troops coming his way. His strength failing, Arvera fired, killing several Imperials. Another blaster bolt in his shoulder dropped Arvera on his back. His finger couldn't find the trigger. As he looked down the barrel of the last snowtroopers gun, he felt strangely at peace. His last thought was of the peace that he had fought so long for and for the brothers and friends who would live in that peace. He thought of his brothers in the Antarian Rangers, silently wishing them the best. The last thing Arvera Srai'Tah saw was not the cold steel of an Imperial carbine, but the beautiful rolling hills of Kothlis and all the smiling faces of the people who had helped him throughout his life.
Again thanks, to all of you who have made this game a wonderful experience. May the Force be with you!
