Thread: since camps are pretty useless now
I believe he meant that they are no longer really needed. Yes, they heal wounds. But, if you go to a player city med center, you get your wounds AND BF healed. And there are usually plenty of those around. If you have novice medic and a med droid, it is faster to heal yourself with the droid than to heal in a camp. Mind wounds do heal up in a camp quite nicely but most people just let them build up until they head back to town to get BF healed as well. Yes, you can still use camps for all of this but it is faster to drive back to town and do it that way. Given how many people seem to play this game as a grind instead of as a game, you don't really expect to have that many people willing to sit in a camp to heal wounds. Maybe I should go to Dath and convince all the newer players that they really want to use camps... But then everyone is out in armor, buffed and solo
. I really can't wait for the Combat Balance. I miss the days shortly after launch.

I miss those days as well. I remember having to form groups to survive. Now, all I hear is solo groups forming. Personally, I think the doctor buffs killed the hunting aspect of this game. Let me say that a different way. I think it killed the group hunting aspect. I used to hold nightly hunts, going to places such as Dath, Endor (before it became little more than a starter planet) and so on. Now, no one wants to bother with a group (except to get harder missions), cause they can go run out and solo any creature out there. I'm not suggesting to remove the doctors cash cow, but I think I liked the old days better, before buffs and vehicles.

If you have wounds, you can pull out a med droid in the field and heal them.
The only thing that a camp is useful for is if you have mind wounds from a massive disease in the head and you happen to have an entertainer. Right now, thats its main use. Too bad, I really like my HTFB.
Right now, I mainly use my HTFB as a rally point for when the group separates.
