Thread: Guide to using the Graphical Post Creator

So
you
can
align stuff a bit
-
You get bullet points -
But, instead of just points, you get numbers.
After that comes the bullet point button
-
In memory of NRaas -
Who really liked bullet points.
The buttons at the bottom are pretty obviously named. I hope this helps (and let me know if something is unclear). It might be useful to read this post in the reply window as then you can see what buttons I am referring to and try them for yourself. Just a small warning, though--the graphical editor sometimes makes the post unpostable if you use those buttons (adding "illegal" html tags).

When do you get the Edit feature???

Community Veterans and Elders get the Edit option. If you click on the Options button next to the title of a post you have written, you will see the Edit Message option.

I know elder is on registration date, is veteran on post count?

How do I do a clickable link?

Clickable links require editing as HTML. If you click the Edit As HTML button, it brings up aversion of your post in HTML (although the conversion is not perfect--type up an example post and then try switching between the graphical and HTML editor a few times. It can get ugly). The main thing with posting a link is that you have to add the link in HTML mode and post it from HTML mode (i.e. you can't go back to the graphical editor or preview the post). In HTML mode, you surround the text you want as a link with
<a href="http://linktome.com">text for link</a>
This makes the "text for link" clickable to take you to the link (the quotes are necessary around the link). Just be warned that the rest of the text is likely to geta bit messed up (I always have to edit the HTML to keep things like my signature lined up properly).
As for Veteran/Elder status, it seems to be a combination of post count and registration date. You need at least 100 posts to become a veteran (from what I can tell). It also seems toneed around a 6 month old registration date. Elder is a bit more difficult to pin down as they are not nearly as common (I'd guess that it is around 9 months with at least 100 posts but I've seen 250 posts proposed elsewhere).

It appears that 100 posts are not enough to become Elder. I think the 250 posts might be closer to the post count that is required.
Hmm...nevermind...either that post was my silent holo post and caused me to unlock my community elder status, or I haven't been paying attention. lol.
edit: *haven't
