Thread: Ranger Factories

I was thinking of buying a factory, if for no other reason than to add another element to my game play. However, I'm concerned that after the initial novelty, it will just end up being a drain. I was just wondering how many of you owned a factory and what your opinion on them is from a Ranger's point of view?

I bought a factory but found I didnt use it for much. If I would have kept Ranger longer I would have enjoyed using it for carrying around ready made camps/traps and what not. I would rather do that then stop and craft a camp... wait 30 seconds before I can throw one out. If you dont need the crafting xp then I would say go for it.

A Factory comes in handy now and then. I used to to make runs of crated Camps and Traps to make carrying them around infinitely easier. It also helps those you wish to help power level the survival lines of scout and ranger. They make it easier to get more for selling camps and traps on the bazaar.

I would just save up scraps from my combat grinding and then run schematics using the crappy hides and bones I had collected. And since you can name the schematic whatever you want you can have fun with it. Rebel Skin Tents go fast, and Portable Love Shacks are quite amusing. I eventuallygot requests for Jedi Skin Tents.

But the factory does not have to be a major drain. Just place it while you do your run on it, then pull it up when you are done. I only needed to use it once a month so it was worth doing it that way.

I do miss ranger

But it has become a lame duck profession. The only usefull and profitable branch now is the Tracking and for tracking people only. The Bounty Hunters do love us for that. Otherwise it is now better to stay scout and use the extra points for better combat.

An equipment factory just for a ranger to use doesn't make much sense in my opinion as it won't be used that often. You will probably be better off to ask a friend about using one every once in a while when you need it.

I use my factory near daily, but I sell traps/camps off of a vendor. Sales come in spurts, and you need to be in a good location. Likewise, you can sell traps/camps on the bazaar. With the 6k limit, you can sell full crates.

Here's the price list I use: ( most items are simply 7 or 8 cpu)

Basic camps - crate 25/ 2500cr

High Quality camp kit - crate 25/ 12500cr

Lecepanine Dart, Wire Mesh, Glow Juice- 1500/crate

Adhesive Mesh- 5000/crate

Phecnacine Dart, Glow Wire - 3750/crate

Noise Maker, Stink Bomb - 2500/crate

Sharp Bone Spur- 1750/ crate

I don't bother with camo kits, they don't sell very well for me. With the new trapping droids, I have seen a small surge in business ( without using the bazaar). If I didn't use the bazaar to sell resources, I would be selling traps there.

Factories are worth it for the storage alone. You can store 100 items in them at the cost of only one lot!
