Hey, you may want to check this thread: Clicky. I believe that a harvest droid bonus of 100 will equal your current harvest skills. Anything over 100 will give you a small percentage more. Veghash will also improve your harvest and the droid's since the droid bonus is based off of your stats. If anything sounds incorrect please correct me. Otherwise good luck!!

Ok I have a question. What is teh bonus we are supposed to get from the droids? I use mine when sniping spawns just because it is easier. But i noticed on Yavin last night that the difference between doin it myself with some +25 Veghash and doing it with my 98 droid and teh same Veghash was only about 2 units per adult Choku. Not a real big difference. I'm currently at 4/2/4/4 Ranger.

SO again how exactly is teh droid added to my base number? Is it my droid just since good enough to matter at this point?

i believe (read: this is what I've heard) that it's a percentage of your skill. So a 98 droid would actually harvest LESS. However, a 109 droid will harvest 109% of what you would normally harvest.

Here's a quick rundown of the way I think it works:

Lets' say with your hunting skill, you harvest 100 units off a creature

Using Vegash with a +20% will yield you 120 units

If, on top of that, you use a droid with a 110 rating, you'd actually be getting 110% of the 120 units, not just 110% of the original 100. Thus the effects stack, meaning that you'd end up with 132 units in this model. If the effects didn't stack, you'd have ended up with 130 units (extra 20 units from veghash, extra 10 from droid). So it's not that much difference, whether the effects stack or not. But if you're mass hunting, you should probably use both.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Hello,

I do not know how the bonus works exactly, but I would just like tosay that it is NOT just a straight percentage of your own bonus. I am currently a +90 ranger and my +76 droidALWAYS harvests more than me. I admit it is usually only 1-2 units more on small critters, but is it still more. There is a post on the Scout forumssomewhere (by a Master DE) that says basically that your droid needs to have a bonus of at least 70% of your own bonus in order for it to be of benefit to you. Anything more than 70% of your bonus and it will harvest more than you. The maximum bonus you can get is 20% more than you, and this would only be if you were a Novice Scout. The higher your own bonus the less bonus you can get from a droid. Have any Master Rangers actually tried outa +70 droid? It would be interesting to compare findings between a Master Ranger with a +70 droid and a Master Ranger with +110 or more droid.

Y'know what? Even though it means a peek into the dark workings of thegames mechanics, i think we need a Definitive Answer from... dun dun dahhh... a DEV on this one.

Uncle Calcuwuss... would you be so kind as to ask that lovely Thunderpants or one of the lovely lovely deities to explain what the droid ratings relate to, what they affect and to maybe give us a worked example so we know, as professionals, how much the darned things do or don't benefit us?

Well I have tried a +78 droid and a +114 droid and at Master I saw no difference in the harvest. Done on the same type of creature out of the same lair.

You're using your droid correctly. He'll always harvest more than you, it's just a matter of how much more. The best you can get is an R3 with all harvesting modules; 109 is very good. The best I've heard of (which I now own) is 119, and that's a leftover from an earlier run.

My 98 harvest droid--very respectable bonus--was about a 10% increase over what I could harvest by hand; my 119 is about a 20% bonus. I know that at first it really doesn't seem like it's worth it, you're getting, what, 2 more meat? 4 more hide, maybe 8? Then you realize that it adds up over time. It might not matter if you don't care what you're harvesting (hunting with friends, hunting for XP), but if you're hunting to harvest, it'll really add up, anywhere from 100 to 1000+ units a night, depending on various circumstances.

By way of the extra meat he harvested, my droid paid for himself in about two days of hunting herb meat that sold for 50-60 cpu. Another few days and he paid for his replacement.

see? i figured I was wrong. I don't use droids, really. I have one, but it sucks batteries like nobodies business and I generally want to punch it in the servo-motor.

I'm in the process of gathering avian meat (suprise) and getting very frustrated with this harvesting.. I've been gone for about 6 months so please excuse my ignorance (damn these droids have evolved)..

I've got: Ranger, Tracking IV, harvesting droid (best i could find, says skill is 109) and looking for veghash

Now, the thing is this.. if i whip out my droid, i harvest just as much as normally, if i let the droid harvest, he harvests a bit more than me (friggin a)..

Can any player really whip out a droid and harvest just as much as I do with Tracking IV (next to master ranger that's the most +creature harvesting you can get)?

Why wont the droid boost my own harvesting? I tought that was what it was for.

How shouldI really be using the droid? Currently I shoot the animal, then command the droid to harvest it.

Will veghash help the droid harvest more (freaky) or me?

The way it looks to me is if i boost my own harvesting with veghash, I will harvest more than the droid and then it becomes useless.
