Thread: harvesting blues..
Hello,
I do not know how the bonus works exactly, but I would just like tosay that it is NOT just a straight percentage of your own bonus. I am currently a +90 ranger and my +76 droidALWAYS harvests more than me. I admit it is usually only 1-2 units more on small critters, but is it still more. There is a post on the Scout forumssomewhere (by a Master DE) that says basically that your droid needs to have a bonus of at least 70% of your own bonus in order for it to be of benefit to you. Anything more than 70% of your bonus and it will harvest more than you. The maximum bonus you can get is 20% more than you, and this would only be if you were a Novice Scout. The higher your own bonus the less bonus you can get from a droid. Have any Master Rangers actually tried outa +70 droid? It would be interesting to compare findings between a Master Ranger with a +70 droid and a Master Ranger with +110 or more droid.

i believe (read: this is what I've heard) that it's a percentage of your skill. So a 98 droid would actually harvest LESS. However, a 109 droid will harvest 109% of what you would normally harvest.
Here's a quick rundown of the way I think it works:
Lets' say with your hunting skill, you harvest 100 units off a creature
Using Vegash with a +20% will yield you 120 units
If, on top of that, you use a droid with a 110 rating, you'd actually be getting 110% of the 120 units, not just 110% of the original 100. Thus the effects stack, meaning that you'd end up with 132 units in this model. If the effects didn't stack, you'd have ended up with 130 units (extra 20 units from veghash, extra 10 from droid). So it's not that much difference, whether the effects stack or not. But if you're mass hunting, you should probably use both.

Uncle Calcuwuss... would you be so kind as to ask that lovely Thunderpants or one of the lovely lovely deities to explain what the droid ratings relate to, what they affect and to maybe give us a worked example so we know, as professionals, how much the darned things do or don't benefit us?
(blimmin' weird coffee I've got today...)
