Hi
I'm thinking about switching from MasterCH to Master Ranger ... As MCH was my first "elite" prof i've mastered (which took me about 2 months) and i really like my pets, i'm not sure if i really want to completely drop MCH. I'm currently going up the TKA so i can tankand fight for myself ...I always liked to be running out in the wild, seeing all these great creatures ... I'm really not sure if i should take this step, but maybe you can help me
Can you tell my why you choosed Ranger, why it is fun for you ...
Many thanks for your thoughts and comments

There are a lot of reasons, mainly becauseliked the image that Ranger presented. Ranger was the first master proffession i chose. There are several good reasons:
Roleplaying is great fun for Rangers
you are actually part of a Rare breed, like Jedi was supposed to be.
you can be part of a great community and some of the funniest people on the forums.
basically, Ranger will never make you UB3R, but if it appeals to you, you'll have lots of fun.
The Rangers have a saying to boil down our reasons for being Rangers:
Ranger--it's not a Proffession, it's a Lifestyle

Why go ranger?
Well, I started this game with the intent of playing Squad Leader, a leader in combat and all that. Always like playing the "paladin" in any kind of game, and SL is indeed the hightech equivalent.
Evenmade an ambitious angle on my RP bio, instead of the ohsofamiliar "my familiy was killed byrepublic hamsters, and now I vow revenge!".
However, after a couple of week literallyscavenging for people to party with.. people that essentially was just working their way towards the goal of "solo groups" no less and are next to clueless to the concept of team effort, I finally had enough, and started surrendering SL skills and it just felt better and better not having to deal too much with the breadheads that haunt the server.
Eventually I've grown into an angry hateful and bitterhermit rangerthat is mastering rifleman so he can use his "musket" loaded with pepper and nails to chase away "sologroupers" that comes near his precious camp.

You should create some macros for when your doing that. Sit there with your tusken rifle in your camp yelling
"Back in my day..."
"When i was your age..."
or the ever popular, and i use it to, "When i was in beta..."

Ok, i've read your story about the SL and that you don't like to Solo-Group-Players. But i'm missing the reason for "Why go ranger" ...
Edit: typos, wrong smileys, guess i have to turn of the pc for today

Because you want to.
If we need to give you reasons, then you are not yet ready, young Scout.

With TKM and MR you can have 3 levels of CH in one tree. A level 19 pet may not be great in a fight, but when Im hunting with my razor cat Stanley I do enjoy it alot. Of course you could do what Im going to do, and get 3 levels in creature management, and have two pets at the same time.

If i wanted to be uber, i'd choose other games (Doom3 with alle cheats enabled :smileyindifferent
... I've been a (ok, dabbling) ranger before i dropped it for some combat skills. I have to say i really enjoyed it ...
Well, i'd still like to hear some more opinions, but i think, i'll really go and switch to Ranger.

Does the proffession match your play style?
Most people who play rangers that ive seen are, good natured, fiercly indepndant, and something of a lone wolf with a severe case of wanderlust.
As the saying goes, some birds aren't meant to be caged.
(see the "Do you..." post somewhere on this forum, alot of the answers are amazingly similar. Its not to say thats how rangers are meant to be played, but it does give some indication on what draws people to the profession.)

You stole my thunder on that one. You know, people like you are the reason my post count is so low . . .
I have lots of great posts. Problem is they're already written by other people!
Etta:
Congrats on your decision. I know you'll wear that title with pride.
