well ive just been hitting up all the different profession forums and some are just pathetic...... Why is it that the rifleman forum is the only good one filled with people who arnt out of their minds and actually want equality?? i visit the pistoleer one, nothin but whiners moaning about getting whomped (well, i guess pistoleers have something to cry about because their prof BLOWS atm) and that devs were smoking crack when they made the differences between pistols and rifles. then the tka forum. YIKES, they are all mad that they dont have mind hit2 and wont be able to stack out the wazoo in the CU. they would also like to see new UNARMED WEAPONS (is this not an oxymoron such as solo groups? and solo grps didnt last) like a robotic arm that does stun damage that they can equip/unequip, specail karate belts that give lightsaber defense and poison resists. UGG! i see posts on being mad that tka is gunna be useless in STAR WARS and everyone will become a pistoleer when ranged profs take the game back. (hmm that sounds kinda like what tka is rightnow 
.....) i see posts on tkas wanting to be able to CATCH yes i said CATCH sabers because they arnt really carrying anything in their hands and they are supposed to be jedi hunters. When SOE made them the jedi "hunters" they didnt want them to be able to solo them. my god. fencer, just 10 trillion posts on the dodge caps, stacking caps, stun baton stats, dodge caps, stacking caps and templates that dont even INCLUDE master fencer just the dabbled lines. Swordsman, "How do i solo an elder?" threads the entire way down. Pikes, just posts on good looted LVA's and templates for jedi killing. Really this dosnt have anyhting to do with anything, just wanted to share 
check them all out, they sure gave me a few chuckles in rage. o yes, on another note i suggest everyone go over to the pistoleer forums show them we are not the only ones gettin love while they are left in the cold and there is a brilliant post on the stupid melee ppl who think kiting is cheap MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Truely a 5 star rant! I saw that post about how tkas should be able to catch lightsabers, I almost fell off my chair.

haha, yeah i saw that catching the lightsaber thingy too...funny. You really don't see much whining going on here in the rifleman forums. Except maybe that one about the "sad defenses" that we have, but that's no biggie. Rifleman is awesome

I agree with the original poster. The Rifleman forum is a thankful respite from the complaining and whining.

Good post mate, my first real profession was Master Rifles, I have been TKA for a long time after I gave up rifles. However, I have chosen to be a rifleman again, and that post on the TK forums is just plain stupid. Even from a TK's point of view the guy is just stupid....catching sabres, whatever next!

I saw that post, and I think that guy actually had a valid point. "Offense stacking" (i.e. BH/Pistoleers and BH/Carbineers) might be WAY more powerful if there wasn't insane stacked defesnes/armor.
Lol, they're are some funny things that come out of that board though. I saw a postsuggesting AP2 VKs with "interchangable" blades -- so they could apply ANY damage type. Sheesh...
Rifles and Ranger are the best in my opinion. Carbs were okay untilthey started /faq-ing every discussion.

One thing to remember is that for a long time Rifles were at the bottom of the pile. A couple small changes, mostly having nothing to do with rifles (buffs), has brought us up to where we are now.
We've seen the bottom and many of us remember how it was then. It's much easier going from the bottom up than the top down.
Now we are a mostly working profession. We only have one broken special and two redundent specials. We're in pretty good shape. Many of the other ranged professions are not. And when professions aren't working to the extend they should be, that will generate frustration.

Nice post and I agree on most points. I wander across forums from time to time, just to see what news there is and basically have a flick through the FAQs and Top 5s... very interesting to see someone who's actually made a summary of it all Nice job.

I just came over to rifles from Carbines. I will tell you that the Carbineers have a great forum. Sure we have our whiners, but they dont stick around long enough to become a problem. ANyhow no knock on this forum, i will be around as i leanr me way thru the proff.

It all depends on the player and how good they can play a profession.
If they suck at a certain one (example:tka) they will be beaten badly
buf if you know what your doing (example:using los) you will stand a better chance vs ranged
As for pistoleer vs rifleman a pistoleer can spank a rifleman...if you have the right skills (example:low blow and eyeshot)
rifleman has its enemy (carbineer) but nobody plays it anymore because of the 0 armor piercing on the weapon. which sucks
(but works well on low level jedi)

hmmmm well it seems in the last few days the template threads have hit again T_T hopefully people will read the guide on them ^_^
Rifleman on the whole are a great bunch of people but we have been sinking in the molasses of being part of most FOTM templates lately-which has unfortunately lowered our reputation (undeservedly). Our profession is a viable one so most of the negative posts we get are by people who think they can PvP and can't - so they blame the tools not the tooluser.
Pretty much the only bad thing in rifleman forums is the number of is "Is this template better then this one?" Threads.
My arguement is and always has been is that all are viable and fun to play - pick something that meets your play style not just the next best thing eg. "FOTM"
I will take this time to point out to all our temploiters out there - no matter what you do now in less then 2 months time all that work will be for naught as the combat system and how professions work together will be so utterly changed that any thoughts that are based on the current systemwill be completely wrong. So your hard work will be negated - play for fun not for power!Old school rifleman _ those who are launch rifleman have played in good and in bad times and still stuck with it - these are the players who play for fun and I think their loyalty speaks for the level of fun they have had during their sojourn here in the world of SWG.
