Not sure if you can camo it, but if you group with it the droid may take aggro.

To harvest, you assign a command word to the droid. You use the radial menu to specify the type of resource to get (meat, hide, bone, or random). Then, say the command word (or use /tellpet ) when you want the droid to get the resource from a corpse. Note that your droid can't loot items(things like voritor plates) and if you specified a resource that doesn't exist on the creature you are out of luck - you can't re-harvest the corpse.

"You can only apply camouflage to another player"

Droids, as far as I can see, don't break your camo unless they are able to make an attact/defend themselves and you are grouped with them. Wether they raise the 'alertness' of the MoB, I'm not so sure.

Droids cant loot only harvest. If they are grouped with you and are attacked. There is the chance that the attacker will look for the droids owner. This was introduced awhile ago.

It will never get it's own sticky, but I will be more than happy to add a droid FAQ to the Ranger Links thread.

I use a harvesting droid pretty frequently. I have a fairly good one (108rating, I think). As others have stated, don't group with it and you'll most likely not encounter any problems. Mine has never been attacked.

However... the little buggers are skittish around certain creatures. A while back someone posted that their droid would commonly get scared and flee from rancors and the like. I have the same problem. I recently harvested 100kunits of dath leathery with my droid, and the damn thing ran away a LOT. You just have to tell it to wait 15 meters or so from the kill zone (if you're a melee fighter like me). Otherwise, or if you forget to do that (also like me), you'll get in the habit of having /yell w (or whatever your stay/wait command is) ready in your dialog bar after starting a fight with a big beastie. I have had some problems with the /tellpet command, so I always try to catch him before he gets out of earshot.

Depite their few quirks, harvesting droids can be pretty valuable, whether you're hunting for a buyer or just need resources to make practice field bases for the xp. If it fits in with your particular playing style, I totally recommend using one.

If you're a Rifleman also be aware that there seems to be an issue with /tellpet when in cover. When I use cover I have to give my droid commands in Spatial chat. And spatial chat gets hung up in the combat que. I've given up on using cover basically. I was using it incase any Sisters or Singing Mountain folks spawned in range but even if you're in covered its brown trousers time, soon to be black bag time.

I was kidding about the sticky calc. But it would go into the links page fine. We have to many stickies as it is. Maybe just enough up there. I like to see the new messages and not half a page of stickies

That's why you may see the hiring a ranger thread disappear again . But I think any more than 5 stickies is too many, and I try to trim the fat, while keeping hot issues up.

Well we dont so much need the hiring a ranger thread now that we have the "This is not a trade forum" one. You might just want to merge the two.
