Thread: Help needed configuring a hunting droid

Do any master rangers use droids to harvest or trap? I've been hitting the DE board today, but would like some feedback from people that actually USE the droids.
I have a droid now that is more of a hinderance than a help. It has 110 med rating, harvest bonus 32, trapping bonus 37.
As a master ranger, I harvest less with the droid than I do by myself. I have read that if your droid has at least a 60 rating you aren't penalized. Can anyone confirm that?
Although I have not performed any "scientific" tests, it seems as though my traps wear off faster(even ones I throw) when my droid is out. Has anyone else noticed this? It may just be my perception. However I am wondering if, like the 60 harvesting minimum, there's a trapping minimum required to avoid a penalty.
Has anyone found a droid configuration that they are happy with? I can see how scouts would be happy with with the droid I have, but it doesn't do much for me. The med rating is worthless for my needs, so I'm thinking of custom ordering some item storage/harvest/trappping hybrid, but I don't want to be disappointed.

Yeah your geting killed by that harvest rating. if you want one that will trap and harvest. Go with 5 harvest modules and 1 trapping module. That was the setup i used successully. Just remember that he will run if anything even looks in his direction. Butit will give you the room for 20 some odd traps and a harvest rating in the 70-80 range.

I just went with crates of traps and a full-harvest droid. (I got lucky though, someone found some old fluke ones that were 119's, I got one. I think the max now is 108-110 or something.

I liked my trap droid for a couple reasons. First his range was 60m. Which was far more then mine. Plus it didnt take up a combat turn. So it was free trapping xp when i couldnt do it myself. So you sit it 60m use the stay command and have it toss glowwires or meshs at your target. I miss my droid "instascout" maybe its time to call him out again
