This might be better posted in the Scout forum, but I figured this is the place where people are more likely to actually care about traps.
I am just starting to trap again. Long ago it was rumored that many of the traps beyond the low-level ones were broken. Can anyone comment on the current state of the traps? The only ones I can find in crates are the bone spur/glow juice/lep/wire variety and I am wondering if it is worth my time/effort to create the higher-level traps. Thanks!

Traps arent broken you just need to use them correctly. The people who say they are broken are the ones who cant understand why bone spurs and wire mess dont work on a Krayt Dragon. The higher the level of the trap the higher the level of creature you can use it against. Just remember dizzy doesnt effect creatures. And you will find one more trap to leave behind.

LOL - OK, I didn't realize that's what people were referring to when they claimed traps were "broken." I had never noticed a problem myself. However, I wasn't aware that dizzy didn't work on creatures - guess I can scrap those crates of lepracine darts! Good thing I didn't churn out a bunch of Sonic Pulse.

Yup I was just on Lok getting 2000 xp a trap with Flash LDarts and Sonic vs Kimos all sizes.... Seemed to work fine... To bad I was out of Ad Mesh.

If anyone wants to make traps in crates -
Glow juice and wire mesh are probably your best bets. I say this as anyone grinding XP for FS will want to throw the maximum number of traps at the higher rated creatures, and you can toss 50 of these at one creature and all have a shot at sticking. I have been seen sitting in camp making traps til I run out of space, then going to an unnamed POI and tossing them at sludgies til my arms get tired. But at 25-1, I realized this was a waste, combat and weapon go a lot faster, and harvesting (scouting) fills in nicely.

Sonic Pulses arent bad. They also do stun which DOES work on creatures. And like all, well who am i kidding our 2, Ranger traps is AoE.

Are you sure? I bought a fatory and made crates of traps. P dart, wire mesh, sonic and flash all rock. Adhesive mesh has a huge failure rate and is cumbersome to use cos of small packs. Maybe its balancin gissue but it does not seem to work.

I spent a lot of time trapping as a master ranger and while i was leveling it twice. Im about to do it again since im working on frontieering, without grinding, and plan on using trapping as my final column. From what i saw last time CL45 was the max level a trap would reliably stick without a droid. CL50 would work with my droid. But these were with the ranger traps which are of a higher level. Pdarts, Glow-wires seem to be the exception and work with the same level of beast as well. We used to, at the beginning of game, be able to experiment on the effectivness of traps. But that was removed. Although there is some rumblings that maybe quality is starting to matter again. But this will be something i test as well.
Not all traps seem to work with all creatures as well. Voritors and i never got along with traps. I was having far better luck with quenkers and their various cousins.
But please prove me wrong. What level trapping are you? Are you using a droid? If so whats the droids bonus? What traps are you using (you do have this listed) and what are you using them against when you see them failing? I need an excuse to trap. Let me see if i can duplicate it with both handmade and factory made ones. Im not saying that what i put in here is set in stone. You may have found an issue. Lets prove it.

With the DE revamp we got harvesting modules and trap modules for droids. The trapping side allows a droid to hold its own traps (only of one type at a time). And launch them independent of your combat turns. They are given a bonus to trapping that i really havent seen do much

Dizzy doesn't work on creatures. You can knock them down but they will never fall over again when standing up.

what droids are we talking about? are there droids that throw traps or give a bonus or something? *slap self* I'm so out of touch with droids it's not even funny...
and BTW, I'm not sure what ya'll are saying about dizzy not working. If I apply dizzy,from a trap orspin move, I can KD creatures as a pikeman. so can someone clear that up?
