Its been a long time since I farmed resources off missions. Can anyone post some information on the best way to milk a liar with the best harvesting efficiency for time. I am a Ranger with 0040.

I have a macro set up that goes:
/attack;/pause 1;/peace
It might be pause 2... can't remember offhand. But it basically shoots the lair once... which generally will cause some spawns and only one shot worth of damage. You can milk a lot doing this.

Like many things in this game, your gonna find that there is lots of ways to accomplish this. For me and my experience, if your a ranged guy, back off from lair 40-60M then shoot lair. If you watch your radar screen, as soon as creature "blip" appears, spam peace. Then kill creature(s) and repeat. Most mission lairs have a set spawn rate. Larger creature lairs tend to have a smaller number, like around 3-5. The lairs will usually spawn the number for a set number of times. Like 3-4 animals (in the case of larger creatures) 3-4 times. Then some lairs will occasionaly have "boss" creatures pop out as lair is destroyed. Ive seen this in noxious vrelts, kreetles, kaadu, sharnaffs and banthas. "Free lairs" or non mission randomly occuring lairs can produce many more creatures. Especially if your careful about not shooting lair when creatures are out. Random spawns without lairs can also produce alot of creatures, but these tend to be timed and not number driven, so if its something you really are after, like avian, then take a wp and come back and check on it.

I have 2 ways to do this. They are dependent on the lvl of mission and the game.
1. Low lvl missions and low lvl creatures: Use a starter rifle such as a DLT20, make sure it isn't a very good one. Stand back 60m from the lair and open up with straif shot2. The lairs are coded in that the creatures will do anything and everything to stop you from killing the lair and completing the mission with out kill all the possible creatures. So while spamming straif2 the creatures will pop out of the lair and start running up to attack you, they will then see their lair taking damage and run to it and heal it. I usually end up with many more creatures popping out this way than the standard 6-8 of a normal mission.
2. High Lvl missions. Kill, tap, kill. Shoot lair to 50% kill spawns. Shoot lair to 25% Kill spawns (not always a 25% spawn) Kill lair (watch out for LDE spawns).
3. High Lvl Missions (i.e. rancors). Take a friend who tanks. I take my wife who is master pistoleer/smuggler. She gets up close to the lair and attacks it, after the first spawn she uses her AOE attack and keeps hitting the lair and the creatures. I take a vantage point some 56-60m back and continue with straif2. The rancor lair will spit out almost double the number of rancors due to the AOE always hitting the lair.
Those are generally my favorite methods. Your harvesting abilities have less to do with it than your combat abilities, since a duel combat master with novice scout will out harvest a master ranger every time.

Ok can somebody help me out this 5k an 10k stacks that meat buyers want. I understand that it is a good amount of meat. For them to do what they have to do butit takes me almost 2 days to get 5k when hunting plus I am hunting alone. And what gives on only buying milk in 5k stacks. Well maybe you dont run into this on your server. I am really not complaining but what i am trying to figure out is if I am doing something wrong.
Oh and is it possible to get a droid group it and double harvest? Well help me out I hate still feeling like a noob.

Well your not so much a noob since it quad posted your reply
The droid doesnt double harvest. It, with the right rating, will enhance your harvest a little. Veghash will boost it even farther.
As for the milk. Trying to get milk in a 5k group is an experiment in pain. Its not worth your time. And most BE's are happy to see a stack higher then 500. Remember if you are mass milking to look at the OQ and PE when you experiment on it. So you can see that you are getting a good stock. No need to get all of these materials if they wont sell right?
As for the small amounts of harvest. Its because your new. If you want some good news when your an elite fighter you can pull as much as 300 per kill off of higher rancors. And 2000 off of Kimogilas. But thats not to say the level your at now is worthless. Far from it. Scout is one of the few professions where you dont have to be a master to suceed. Go to www.swgcraft.com and do a search for resources on your server Nariutus. Right now your Naboo leather is as good as it gets with the numbers. Trust me it will be in big demand by armorsmiths. And its not super creatures you need to fight to get it. Gualmas and Pekos arent the hardest to kill. The higher gualmas can be tougher. But if your buffed its cake. They are good for natural lairs as well. The spawn is at least 9 days old on your server. So fiqure it has less then a week left. Go pick on them. Even if you only get 5k of the hide. You will find a very happy armorsmith to buy it from you.
The only way to learn is to ask. Please do. We are here to help and guide to. Even if we seem like a bunch of smart... as the brits would say bums.
