Thread: Conceal, Whip's quest and JB

Like the man said, it ain't bragging if ya can do it.

Conceal worked like a freaking charm. I never even fired a shot. Got my quest completed by using conceal and walking right up to the supply crates and taking my stuff. "Hello Mr. Sith, scuse me, pardon me, hot soup, lady with a baby, make a hole." Grab the crate and leave the area.

However - if you plan on doing this quest - be advised

1. BRING LOTS OF MONEY. I spend roughly 100k, lil less I think. Dath to Corellia to Endor and back is ~12k. Six times. And then you gotta fix the bike a couple of times.

2. Be prepared to spend a long time on this. Do not tell the wife unit that I spent like 4 hours today doing this. She thinks I was being productive.

3. Realize you will miss many flights. Jedi must learn patience. I crafted camps.

4. Use /ar when you get to the provided waypoint. Good news, if your downed transport has spawned, you can find it by the large number of bad guys standing around in one direction. Bad news, there may be several transports in one area, so you gotta check em all. If you can pick up the crate, it's yours. If the transport is there, and no crate, not yours. I ran into this 3 times, but muddled through.

I would have posted this in the new FS forum, but something about that place reminds me of 3d grade. Hence, I avoid it like the plague. As bad as the BH forum.

Hopefully this helps some people. Personally, I can see a new business in Rangers staying on Endor and hiring out themselves for missions just to camo the quester. 10k sounds about right ot me.

JB

oh yeah, I got a crystal that adds +2000 to my health for 2 hrs. Dunno the usage rate, think it's once per 72 hrs. If I use it, will let ya know.

So what do you do if you went there almost a week ago, found everyone's transport but your own and now, even after almost a week, still can't continue....

I tell you all of these bugs are coming really close to breaking this ranger's camo for the last time.

Thanks for the tips. I always forget to use /conceal when dealing with NPC's. Then again, I'm trigger happy.

However, I thought this quest was bugged? I was waiting on word for a fix before I started it. Has this happened, or is it still buggy but occasionally able to be completed?

the fix is going in tomorrow (/cheer), but it's not so bugged that you can't attempt it -- there's a chance, though, that your chest / ship will spawn under water or go knows where and you'll never find it (happened to me). You then get a mission completed message after about 30 minutes of driving around finding everyone else's wrecked ship, and then you get a mission completed message. At which point, you go back to whip, who then says go get the crate, idiot, and then you're stuck...

I have to say, though - I've been very impressed with how Tiggs is handleing the whole situation. She's made an effort to keep in communication (in my book, just posting "hey we're looking into it... we're still looking into it is much better than long silences), and she doesn't take crap from all of the trolls...

One more thing on part 1:

Dath to Corellia to Endor is expensive but faster. Dath to Corellia to Naboo to Endor saves money but is slower (you save about 2k per flight or 4k per trip or 24k total). Take your pick (and remember that you can't miss a shuttle in Theed).

Thanks for the tips JBMat. OH and by the way, I completely agree with your comments re the FS forum...it's like a bunch of kids in there (oh yeah, it probably is...).

Anyway, I am ready at any stage to kickoff on my quests, however I read the post in the FS forum that pointed out it's about 100k'ish in travel. I don't have that kind of cash, so it's back to missions for me until I can afford it...

But eventually, I shall have it...oh yes, I shall...

I did the same thing on whip's quest in phase one.

This is the one to open VEchile control right? If so why do it? I mean really It is even more of a worthless tree then Survival is. I'm still waiting for get a real answer in teh FS forum as to why a MAster Ranger Rifle can't even open teh Senses tree where all our ranger skill Xp goes.
