Hi I have been offered many times to be Hired by Players who are in search of specific Animals. I was wondering if thier is anyway to Charge a desent price for my time if i choose to Track for them. Mostly Players want Krayt Dragons Tracked ( usually ancients are most wanted) and Rare animals that are hard to find suck as a Great Plains Stalker Baby for a Creature Handling. I have read some post for people also wanting to hunt Gorax. Now This character is a alt i usually use to harvest resources for my main doc profession because i can't afford to put out 150cpu for avain and 45-100 cpu for herb meat. Any info or advice would be most helpful please post here. I am on the Flurry Server. Thank You for all your posts.

This will soudn really, really mercenary - but charge whatever you can get away with. I run with my Master Ranger tag on all the time, and get around a tell a day asking for people and animals tracking.
Since FS became popular, you'll find a lot of Jedi asking for GDKs, Ancient Bull Rancors etc. They'll be quite happy to pay several hundred k if you can locate their target. I normally ask for half the agreed fee up front - to cover my time - and take the second as a balance if/when the target is located. There will be some days when the target just won't spawn, and at least that way you get something for your time, and your client feels that you aren't scamming them.
Don't feel bad about haggling. If you are a Doc, you can sit on your backside and get 14-16k every few minutes. No disrepsect to Docs, as we all need them. We shouldn't we feel bad about asking for a fee for our services, especially as those after tracks are generally vets and or Jedi, and are minted.
What's the highest fee has anyone been offered? To date, I was offered 1million credits for a Pirate track on Tatooine. Shame I couldn't take the job because it was one of those rebel types offering me the money, but that's another story. And the hassle of being a role-player.
As for player tracking. I'm sure any BH will be most happy to have you, but be aware s/he'll be limited by the bounty on offer for their mark.

Its all a case of supply and demand (and usually the demand is MUCH higher then the supply
). You should probably check with other rangers on your server to find out what the current going price for tracking is. You can find a list of those in the stickies. Ultimately though it is your choice, because you are the person who will be spending hours looking for these things. Set a price thatyou think is fair, and if they refuse, they can look for another ranger.

I take whatever they are willing to offer usually
The typical price I get offered for tracking the Bladeback Boar is 100k credits, and 200k credits for the Pirates. Its not uncommon to receive a 100k tip ontop of the fee.
My secret is I dont go looking for the 'favored' waypoints listed on the boards, I do a grid search using area track and more often than not I find the prey not in any place posted on a message board and I find them often within 30 minutes.
My cutomers have been happy to pay the fee (most have been trying for days on their own to find the spawns w/ no luck)

Charge whatever you think your time is worth.
The thing is once you really master the art of making credits in this game as a ranger/combat professionyou'll find that your time is worth about a mil an hour .. more than you would expect anyone to pay ... So tracking stuff for other people (for credits) is just for hits and giggles if you are bored ... not really worth the hassle.

It just depends on the situation and the people on how much I charge for my services if anything. Sometimes I just charge expenses and other times I might charge a bit more.
Cept where jedi are concerned. I gouge the heck out of them to make their profession as costly as possible. heh

Don't charge on a per creature basis, or success on finding the animal.
Charge by the half hour or hour, money up front. Track until the time is up or you find the creature, whichever happens first.
Oh, and as they have to kill the creature, make sure they understand you will be harvesting, not fighting.
