I'm never going to use it.

Look at the resource requirements. Every one requires planet specific resources, and is different from every other kit. What am i going to do? Set up a flora harvester on every planet? To make a kit that can last only 25 minutes at master? Silly.

Guys, I'm getting more and more concerned that the casual player can not play this game. This is just yet another example of the ever-growing amount of time required just to obtain the materials so that you can actually go out and play the game. This, along with item decay, is going to make casual playing miserable. You will have to run missions to get cash 4 days out of 5 to be able to have the tools you need to actually play the game and have fun on day 5. I hope you understand what I mean here, this is no slam on our crafters, but there is NO way to get a leg up financially. You run missions for a couple hours and buy a 15k rifle? Well, enjoy it for the next 3 days, because then you'll have to run missions to buy another one. I'm exaggerating (but only slightly) and when everything in the game is like this, well, it can kinda get you down.

Anyway, back to topic, I'm disappointed. This needs to be changed to something that we can aquire in the field. Make foraging useful for crying out loud. Let us use foraged items in the kits. And I don't mean 30 furr-cle onions. I mean like 2.

How many times have you gone hunting and smeared 15 pounds of herbivore meat on your face? Well, this is just as silly.

The cost you encumber buying the flora will get passed on to your consumers when you sell the resources you aquire while on your hunts. You will do just fine, we all will.

Disclaimer: I haven't used this skill yet as I'm at work.

But looking at the resource list, nothing looks terribly onerous. You should be able to get enough animal resources to last you two or three hours by killing and harvesting a handful of critters. Set aside a portion of what you kill after that and you're good for a long time. If it works, the benefits will outweigh the inconvenience.

The only thing I really object to is having to retain surveying skills to find flowers. I'd at least like for them to give rangers an innate certification to use the flora survey device so I don't have to waste those 15 points on something a ranger should be able to do in his sleep as a wilderness expert.

I expect I'll just buy a lot of those resources if they don't change it.

I used to think so, too. But making boatloads of cash, even when you're away from the game is so simple you wont believe it. Here's the trick: Put your ranger skills to use.

Buya handful of harvesters and do a little surveying. You terrain negotiation and maskscent skills makes this much easier for us than other players. Find a nice deposit of something, drop a harvester or two on it and sit back. Come back in a few days, retrieve the resources and find some steady buyers.

I can make 100,000cr a day doing this. I kept parlaying my profits back into the business and now have 10 medium mineral extractors sitting on a rich copper deposit. If you've never used harvesters before, it probably seems a little daunting. But once you figure it out, you'll kick yourself for not having done it earlier. Trust me, it's not rocket science.

And its completely consistent with your Ranger character. You're out exploring and using maskscent, gaining XP as you fight and camp in the field.

With this kind of cash rolling in, I can afford anything my heart desires. Don't try to run a bio harvester on every single planet. Just buy what you need on the bazaar, or find another ranger that can supply you with what you need. Pick it up in stacks of 5,000 and you'll have enough to last you a month or more.

Have you looked ont he bazaars recently for some of these materials? There's so much flora and stuff on sale there I don't know why any ranger thinks they won't be able to get the resources needed. Personally I'd rather buy the stuff on the bazaar anyway rather than forage for it. Yeah, not very rangerly of me but foraging isn't exactly a thrill a minute either.

- Good show.

- There is lots ofcomplaining regarding further interdependence among the professions. People should look at it from the perspective you stated.

- If you don't want to spend YOUR time to gather the resources, pay someone else to do it for you.

- That's what you're paying for when you purchase off the Bazaar, someone else's blood, sweat, and tears.

- Otherwise, spend some of those skill points and pick up Artisan yourself for the surveying and harvester creation. Its all about what is convenient in your circumstance.

I don't have a problem with the mining not being a thing a Ranger can get. I do have a problem not being able to get floral. I'm not going to be a miner, I don't have the points.

What I do see happening now is buying personal harvesters (mineral, chemical and now floral) and dropping them were I see others having dropped them and seeing what the harvester can extract. Question: Endor was full on no build zone last I heard. How do you get floral from there? Is it buildable now?

there are many people who don't quite realize the floral issue.

the camo packs require foral from each specific planet. have you ever seen dathomirian decidious wood on the bazzar? or how about yavinian fungus? me neither.

On the idea that rangers can't make money. Now with area track we will be able to get hides/bones/meat much faster than anyone else since we ill not have to randomly run around to find the best critters that give the most efficient pieces.

Plus people are going to want you to track things for them. Charge tracking fees.
