Thread: Are we Worse, then before the patch?

What things are actauly worse then before? So far It seems that /maskscent no longer gains any benifit for being a Ranger, as such, its utility looks to be lessend.

The new Harvesting rule overall is an improvement. The only downside right now is for those groups with no other scouts (including your own pet) But even if there is one other novice scout in the group, then it is better. Just have everyone harvest, then pool resources to one person.

The fact that /conceal and /areatrack are of limited use, does not make things worse for us.Thing are just not as good as we hoped. Personaly, I don't see that big a problem with the high resource requirements with the camo kits. Hunting on the Adventure planets is something that needs planing and preperation. Even Medic/Doctors spend a good deal of time preparing all those Resurection packs and buffs.

"So far It seems that /maskscent no longer gains any benifit for being a Ranger, as such, its utility looks to be lessend"

- Well, agreed. You no longer get additional benefitusing /maskscent if you are a Ranger. But since we are Master Scouts, we get the full benefit either way.

"Even Medic/Doctors spend a good deal of time preparing all those Resurection packs and buffs."

- I can attest to this. Everytime I make camp, my medic pulls out the old crafting droid and starts working on some pack or kit that heis running out of. I guess I can work on making camo kits while he's doing that now.

- Speaking of camps. Has the repel aggro been resolved in the upper level camps? I know it worked in the basic Ranger camp, but what about the FB and HTFB?

- Anyone want to be a guinea pig on this one?

If by 'worse off' you mean that at least before the patch we had hope, and now we have no hope, then yes, we are worse off.

"we had hope, and now we have no hope"

- Oh now really.

- I still have hope all these minor issues will be resolved before the weekend.

- And there is always the next pass.

Hope? There is always Hope. But are we less functional now?

Why are you guys so pesimistic? We are much better off than before. At least we have some new skills. Granted they aren't all that great yet but I dont think this is the last tweak we're going to get. Lighten up FFS.

"There are no visual indications that I have been /concealed."

- We are no less off (given ONLY the changes, and not the new problems) than we were before.

- We do have /areatrack, which is apparently somewhat useful

- We do have camo kits, which will be useful once the infrastructure of resources is up and going.

- We do have lower Frontiering experience requirements, which to those new Rangers is definitely a plus

----

- I don't see us any "less functional" than we were before. Though that's not saying much.

- If they fix the Harvestingissues before the weekend, I'll be sitting pretty.

...snip...

If indeed is has been lessened the "We are Master Scouts" bit rings hollow. It is a nerf, plan and simple. I'm hoping this is a bug because I get tired of masking on every mob I see only to have it break again right away (and on Durnis!!!!).

The wilderness should be our home. I get the factthat I can't solo red cons, I have no problem with this, but I sure as h377 should be able so sneak past them.

Are we worse after the patch? Absolutely not. We have tracking, camo kits, and additional means of making money in selling the camo kits to Rangers not inclined to harvest. I have to agree with dashida, in that I think our community is becoming very negative. I've been proud of the fact the Ranger forums has very few, if any, chronic complainers.

I think if you look at other professions, we are way ahead in comparison.

- My bet is on the fact that Mask Scent is still broken... Just broken in a DIFFERENT way now

- Seems new changes brings everyone out of the woodwork. Just look at the number of posts that have been added in the past hour?

- I agree... Compared the TK forum, this place is a Garden of Eden.

Maskscent was "fixed" like 4 times on test after the big changes to the scout profession. How the hell could it still be broken, honestly. If My boss told me 4 times to fix something and at the end it still was wrong, I would be fired. Something is wrong here, very very wrong.

Look I realize no one is perfect but, someone in SWG really needs to look at the quality of the product they are producing. I am not naive to the complexity of such a project/product, however failure rates are failure rates. Something needs to be addressed in terms of quality assurance. Because i'm not quite sure I'm too assured of their quality.
