Thread: Thoughts on the patch, what are others opinions?
I just got around to logging in to check the game today and noticed that Ranger changes had gone live. Here are some of my thoughts, for what they're worth, and also to generate some discussion.
First off I could hit myself for not getting trained to Lvl III in Wayfaring before today. I got the old xp req a few days ago, but alas could not hook up with a player that could train me, nor did I have the cred to pay my friendly sullustan trainer.
Secondly I have tosay that I'm not exactly thrilled with the camo kits. I have Lvl I surveying and can gather enough resources as it stands to make my own kits. However, in defense of those who don't I agree that it would be nice to have some way within our prof to gather the floral parts. It was a lot easier to be self-sufficient as a Master Scout having "unlimited" skill points available (or so it seemed).
Not really sure how I feel about tracking. I have only used it a few times and after the first use outside the bank in Mos Eisley am now wondering how useful it will be. Just to let you know I only have Lvl III for it.
On the point of harvesting changes, I feel this is good.A person that posted did say that if you are in a group with pets only and harvest you don't get full xp for it. As a non-master ranger this does concern me, especially with the bumps to xp reqs in some lines. Hope this is just a bug situation. Another related point, although the expected influx of resources from this change needed to be addressed, I'm disappointed that the higher level Ranger camps now use hides and bone. I can see adding those to the list, but after having to use polymer (which of course I stockpiled) and now not needing it as much I question this change. Does the highest level camp use hides and bone as well, or does it use polymer? Would really like to know as I only have Lvl IIcamping (tho the change now makes me qualify for Lvl III).
Finally, I'm a little unsure after seeing these changes what to expect from the new traps. I hope they are good. Just to refresh my memory, what line will their use fall under?
Just noticed also that we can no longer see the amount of resources we can figure on harvesting from a defeated animal, but can see the special attacks now. Would be nice if both were viewable. But I guess if we harvest we get what we get, and now we can at least see what we have to worry about on unfamiliar critters we look at.
BTW, I never seem to get ppl replying to my posts.
