Thread: PvP and /rescue
Well i just finished an explorer mission in bestine. i decided to set up a camp and rest.I see 2 purple dots on my radar followed by about 20 blue ones.I went and checked it out and sure enough there was a party of rebels heading for bestine. Being a covert imperial i went back to my camp and sat down.
Then a guyfired at me and i tried to get up and run but with 20 on 1 i died pretty quickly but i did have time to click on the guy that fired at me and he was a novice ranger and was like **edit**.I remembered reading in the update notes they fixed a bug where you could /rescue a player to force him into combat. well they aparently did not fix it

That sounds to me like you had a TEF, not like you got hit with the /rescue exploit.
What would happen with the /rescue exploit was that if another player (of the opposing faction) was attacking an animal or NPC, you could rescue the animal and NPC and then attack the player.
That's what they fixed.

It is highly doubtful that this was the way they aggrod you... the ranger would have to /rescue something you had attacked and were currently in combat with and then YOU WOULD FIRE FIRST if the skill was successful thus allowing him to autoattack back...
So the way you describe the situation... /rescue was not your downfall but something else.. most likely related to Faction TEF or similar.

We're not sure. Usually between 5-10 minutes.
Did you kill a rebel, get healed by an overt or heal an overt before you got smacked?

didnt know healing could cause that, i did try to help the 2 guys running from them, so i guess that was it...
