I'm going to try not to rant. I really really am. But what I am about to relate has me STEAMING MAD.

So, I'm 500 survival xp away from finishing off Frontiering IV. I drop a field base and sit in it while I smirk at the forums. I just went back in and checked camp status. It was up for 14 minutes. So I figure that's good enough and disband camp, waiting to here the ding noise for a new skill.

And this is the message I get: "You lose 70 points wilderness survival experience."

...

**edit**?

I'll take a gander:

You are at your wilderness cap and the exp is being added (without a message that its added) then the exp cap adjustment takes place and you lose it again.

Could be it...

Did you check the plug on your neck? You may not have it connected right.

The same thing has happened to me before, though not with camping. I healed my wife and lost nearly 2000 pts of medic skills - it was like 1977 pts lost.

Could it be possible that you arent actually losing any xp? Maybe it gives you amessage that you lost xp, but it may show a gain if you check it in skills panel. Im just kinda shooting in the dark here, I know sometimes i dont get messages for xp when i kill things, but in the skills panel it always shows up.

No, I wasn't capped (couldn't be, as I was working on getting frontiering IV), and yes, I'd been checking the xp total quite frequently, as I was trying to figure out whether better resources used to craft the camps gave better xp. (It does, btw.) So when last I'd looked at it, I had 59507. After that message, 59437.

Doesn't matter now, as I no longer need it, and I'm not dropping the frontiering branc unless I absolutely need to.

I don't know. I'm hoping someone here does. I shoulda screencapped it, but I was too stunned.

Here's a screen of it. Not the system message, but I haven't even moved since it happened.

"that seems to be a new one"

Aye, I have heard of losing experiencewhen the cap drops after surrendering a skill...

  • But 70 points? That is just bizarre.

Yes. No ticket though, as it's only 70 xp and really inconsequential. But it's seriously screwed up. I thought you weren't supposed to lose XP for anything in SWG, only faction points.

Here's a scary thought... I see an AFK comback in the previous lines... did they sneak in code to prevent AFK camping?
