Thread: Bio Enhanced Clothing and Ranger...
OT: I'm sorta bummed at the clothing decay. I'll most likely leave my clothes in my bank when i go somewhere dangerous and pick up cheap newbie clothing. Hurts to lose 90k in clothing =/
Got +15 camo and maskscent... since the patch, I have noticed that the maskscent seems to be a wee bit more stable, but some NPCs are seeing thru my camo. I wandered thru herds of GSPs and other meanies and not one broke maskscent. However, I was camoed running out of town and a swoop leader engaged me at 45 meters. Go figure.

I wear +28 Camo/maskscent,
I will have to have a chat with my tailor (and BE)since I only have +13 mask and camo.
I was wondering. If I have 100% camo/maskscent, and am wearing 13% mod clothing, and I checked and it says I am at +113... how can anything break that? I am assuming the creature does a check, which is in essence a random number generator...blah blah blah... which shouldn't give a number higher than 100. If my stuff is at 100, sure I can see a beast breaking it, but not at 113.
Like I said, just wondering.

often confused, never really lost
I'm curious if anyone uses Bio Enhanced clothing and what for? (I'm talking strictly Ranger skill wise.)
I'm currently aware that Maskscent and Camo can get bonuses. Can anything else? If not, is there any chance we can request some tissues that could add to our harvesting abilities?
Just a thought,

NRaas is gonna have to either back me up or correct me on this, but I'm pretty sure Maskscent and Camo modifiers act at a walk.
If you've got a rating of 100 and are walking (read shift + movement) nothing should detect you (bugs aside). If you're running though, there is a negative modifier applied to your rating. Similarly if you're burstrunning there's an additional negative modifier added. Essentially what the modifier SEEMS to do is act as an ideal situation thing.
I'm not 100% sure but there are probably other -modifiers that can change this. That's why I think having Bio-Engineered clothing helps so much.
In the meantime I've settled for protection from Bleed clothes because that seems to be my biggest enemy.

higher ones can exceed the 100 roll
I myself run in my BE clothing on Dathomir in/out of Rancors but im a MBE so the clothes come cheap to me
tip: find a good BE, we generally will know a good tailor, & you should be able to find some decent priced clothes.
but my mask & my camo get broken by enraged bull rancors quite often when I am walking
although I havent tried prone yet with it (just seems like asking to die)
perhaps tonight ill attempt that =)

Ok... You asked for it. ![]()
The maximum success rate for /maskscent is 95% and /conceal is 98%
- There is always a chance for anything to break concealment
You receive the maximum success rate while crawling...
- The rate then drops when walking, and drops further when running.
- I don't know by how much it drops however (perhaps a percent or two)
The higherthe Creature Level, the greater the chance of breaking.
- So a single kreetle is less likely to reveal you, than an ancient bull rancor.
Each aggressive creature has a chance to break your concealment once every couple minutes.
Skill enhancers improve the success rate, but never over the maximum rate defined above.
- The maximum enhancement allowed from clothes is +25 on any single skill.
- So if you have two +14 camo clothes, you don't get +28, only +25.
However, I don't know if the enhancement limitation includes the Bothan bonus.

Hope that helps clear some stuff up. ![]()
OK so I was close. HAHA... but wait...
So if I max out my maskscent then I shouldn't spend any money on maskscent bio enhancements? It seemst that's what your saying. Once my mod hits the 98% the maskscent bonuses are not important?
Sorry to drag it out, I'm currently making some Bio-Enhanced clothing orders and want to make sure I don't buy anything I don't need.

"Once my mod hits the 98% the maskscent bonuses are not important?"
The /conceal skill modifier does not translate directly into the success rate.
- +100 in conceal skill gets you the maximum 98% success rate against some base line creature level, while crawling
- +125 in conceal skill gets you the maximum 98% success rate against a HIGHER creature level while crawling
So even though a Ranger can never be more successful than 98%...
- The skill enhancers will bump our success rate back up to 98% if some other factor decreasesthe rate: ie.walking, running, or higher creature levels.
