Is there a weapon only a ranger can use? If so what is it called?

I think there was talk of such a thing, but nothing has materialized as far as I know.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

There is indeed a Ranger Only Weapon! It's called our brains! We seem to be the only ones who are equipped with one!!!

No, seriously, we don't have a Ranger specific weapon. We are not a combat profession according to the Devs.

there are two Ranger-specific weapons. They are traps, and are certed in the trapping line.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

honestly, its a semantic argument.

it is not possible to actually defeat any opponent using traps, so technically its not a weapon.

However, traps are a "combat multiplier" they make the weapon that you do use more effective by placing de-buffs and states on the animal targets.

Ok, just to make sure i get this right, ranger is not a combat profession. BE is not a combat profession. BE gives me a cl of around 17 and ranger gives me a cl around 54..... I understand BE is a crafting profession (or is it?), what is Ranger?

Ranger is a crafting/healer/support profession I guess.

The flash and sonic traps... no other profession can use them.

I have never tried to drop a HTFB on anyone but I suppose you could... it really only affects Noobs and acts like a daze....They just stand around and stare for a few minutes before they are able to move....

you're mistaken. Ranger IS a combat profession. We get advanced armor certs, CL bonus and health bonus, we get offensive state attacks (traps) and we weren't included in the "non-combat buffs" publish for entertainer because, as someone was told by a red name "Ranger is not a non-combat profession".

we're underpowered, but that doesn't mean that we're not a combat profession.
