I recently Just startedgrinding ranger, although im only novice...This profession seems awesome. I am only level 27, with some rifleman, and i can take level 50 creatures, with ease. All i have to do it use the darts, and snare and the creature doesnt get with in 20m. Plus i have the ranged arms which give me more range. I originally only got this for the money potential, 1k hide from 1 creature, with a contract of 20 CPU=VERY VERY VERY RICH. But now i cant wait to go out and solo some krayts. I cant wait till they makes this profession better though, it has alot of potential. Any comments or tips would be appreciated, i hate getting trappingf exp it takes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long.

Don't grind Ranger, enjoy the Ranger experience. Really though, the ranger community is the best in SWG and welcome to becoming a ranger. Use all your skills and have fun.

I've been playing quite a while now, and have mastered (then rerolled) several professions. I wish I'd done ranger earlier, as it appears I've finally found something I can enjoy all the time.

So far I'm 2-0-4-0, and none of it has been a grind at all. I'm in no hurry to get back to cl80 (58 atm), and am seeing parts of planets I hadn't before.

Ranger is a blast!

I have mastered ranger on eclipse 3 times now. Once before the jedi stuff... once as a holo grind and then just a few months ago.

I love rangers. I love ranging. I love my HTFB. I love going out into the wilds and looking around at the amazing art that is in our game...

I don't love our buggy traps, our lack of toughness and an insane ammount of skillpoints... But hey what profession is perfect?

Keep it up. Your doing everything right. If they ever fix adhesive mesh we would have a root also.

We have fans amongst the ranks!

really though, don't grind, play and have fun. You'll never get a chance to replay your first climb to Master Ranger, and it's the best one. We're all glad to hear you are geuinely enjoying yourself.

Just enjoy the journey my friend, the money will come in time and with it less time to wander the planets and do the Ranger thing. As for soloing Krayts, well I just finished off my evening (umm, morning) soloing krayts for pearls to give to my bug-light wielding guildmates and I must admit it's a blast.Though that last canyon left me wondering if I'd be selecting the pre-designated or closest cloning facility Without question my most exciting hunt.

Basic flow of events: Three traps in a row failed to stick at which point the Krayt had a good snack plate going off my backside with me down to 20% health (a Krayts got to eat too), course I'm stunned, blind and dizzy so no burst-run escape option; It's stick the next trap or die.Thankfully that 4th trap stuck (thank the chef and trapping food s/he makes), I got in a kneecap shot, opened the distance a bit and hit the stim pack -- ahh 70% health. You'd think all is well at this point butsadly no, he shakes off several pdarts and again closes with and stuns me taking another large chunk of my hide while managing to kill my probot droid. Of course my only prayer is stick the next trap which I do -- luck -- and I finish up by tossing a trap every third shot. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I got munched on hard a total 3 times, ran through all of my accessible stim packs (4), used all my traps up and only managed to kill the thing with about 10% of my health remaining but, without question, my most thrilling hunt if sadly executed.

Take aways:

1. Don't solo krayts when very tired!

2. Soloing when tired is still safer than grouping. Ok, that's just my experience

I think that is most everyone's experience. Mine usually goes like this.

ME: Okay, I'll go pull one of those...

GROUP MEMBER 1:<AOE blasts the lair and half the creatures>

GROUP MEMBER 2: <AOE attacks everything else>

GROUP MEMBER 3: <wanders too close to another lair and adds more creatures>

GROUP MEMBER 4: <Helps GM3 by AOE attacking the animals near GM3>

ME: <Sigh andwonder why I even bother getting in groups to begin with>

You forgot groupmember 5 that yells at you for not knowing how to play the game and getting everyone killed.
