Thread: Bah, Murphy's Law strikes again!

I thought that I would be able to do the Rryatt trails alone. I was able to, thanks to burst run, stims, and action regeneration. By the way, the items we can harvest do have action regen, and they do stack . I finally made it down to the webweaver trails, with all of the CL 65 - 67 spiders, in groups of 3, every 50 meters along the usually-one-way trails.

Sadly, I did not successfully obtain a screen shot of this, but I happened across the corpse of a Newbie Helper, who had their profession tag set as "Tracker." I killed the npc standing over his corpse, and /told him "I have avenged you."

And, to top this 1 hour escapade off, I made it to almost (what I assumed to be) the end of the trail, as I was being tailed by 7 of these little buggers, I somehow warped to the ground of this area. I decided to use the /unstick command, but oh what a mistake that was, because it sent me back to the very beginning of the trail.

Lessons Learned:

  • /Unstick is a last resort

  • P-Darts are the equivalence of a bag of caltrops, if you can time them right

  • Always try to get incapacitated at range, and in a secluded area where the creatures do not wander to often

  • There are more than just nasty creatures down there

  • Burst Run + Terrain Negotiation = a hasty retreat

Hope you guys had a better experience down there. I don't think I'll be going back for a really long time .

Um just run past the critters on the webweavers bit and youll complete it - they cant keep up if you dont have a weap in hand!

really good - apart from the jebay who ran at me (umaskscented) with 20 critters after him - i got fecked them - course I used my new respeced BH to hunt him - revenge is a dish best served lukewarm after all!

Yeah, except there is no way you canfinish the whole path in one /burstrun. I've tried with regular running, and they dohave ranged attacks, and I don't have enough health regen foods to keep up with their damage. Plus, there's the deranged wookie group near the middle of this trail. That's yet another annoyance.

Despite your experiences, this quest isn't easy.

I haven't died yet. And I'm so disappointed cos I'm not cloned and half hope to get a replacement body part (just for long enough to scare the kids and get some screenies then am off to the doc's to have it removed)

I've not 'quite' finished the trail yet tho, so there's still time

Having said that, by thinking like a ranger, I've managed to stay alive a lot longer than some of these uberleet bombad clicky bangy shooty types. Look newb jedi with your scary lvl 25 and silly light stick, This isn't rocket science. If you shoot one and three of its pals join in, maybe its a Good Idea(tm) to avoid combat where you can't win? Get mask scent, go round. There's usually just enough room. And you commandoes... what is it with the area attacks? You just lit a big sign up that says to all them critters inthe cone "Free Lunch"

its easy to fix that just run up a mountain (on the webweaver trails i know this works) right under a bridge and it will let you back on the top of the mountain.

i had to do that twice /grumble

Heh, the sad part about that little outing I had, was that I masked my scent, but every check they made broke it automatically. Maybe I should've worn my bonus clothing on top of it, even though I've got my Master Scout to max out "natural" bonuses to /maskscent.

Also, I've been doing some foraging, and a majority of the items now give a bonus to health and action regeneration. Several give both in the same foraged item, while others give a buff and a regeneration increase to the same stat, or different stats.

Well, i made it past all the levels except the last one with my normal run, and clone armor. That's it. no weapon. I then helped a MSL, M Rifleman, anda Jedi Knight kill Katarn, so Im a Master of theRraytt Trail. AND, take the quest from the Master Guide. You just visit all the levels, and you can talk to him afterward to instantly trasport to whatever level you want.

Just to clarify you dont even need burst run for this - a level 80 with 5000 kinetic armour and no movement hindrances cna run through the webweaver level.

Whenever you get to the first wookie village just stop on the bridge after it and fight the 4 wookies that follow you on to it.

Stop there and regen your health then run through the next bit - there are always areas where they dont follow you so use them to regen - and dont do what i did - fall off the tree on the first attempt and run around going "what!"

I soloed the quest down to the mynstingers, they were level 78 and I had to kill 24 of them so I decided to get some help in today. Got 4 people from my player city to group up with me, 3 of them hadn't done anything on the trail yet so we decided to take it from the top.

Soloing had been a drag of regenerating health, running from situations and taking forever to kil 1 out of 18 mobs needed. Doing this with 5 people was a breeze and great fun, we made it to the katarn three hours laterwith 4 of us but there we failed. Took a seven man group straight down this evening and got the badge The first badge I've got that really felt earned.

So yes, it is possible to solo most of the Rryatt trail, but bring a group, it's so much more fun.
