Thread: * This Ranger's long walk into the wilderness... *
I have confidence that the rl issues will work out after some serious talking as well as dropping a couple things that have taken up way too much of my time. This game being one of them.
You guys are great and I'm going to miss the Ranger community. I may be back, but it'll be awhile, you never know. Take care of each other and don't let the Ranger profession die. And be mindfull of the things that are real in this world and stop focusing on all the distractions unless you wake up one day to find everything gone.
Happy hunting my friends,

Best of luck to you and I hope to see you back someday.

Plunk, sad to see you go, but i know exactly what you're going through. This game can completely eat up your life, many times without even realizing it is doing so.
i've been cutting back alot on SWG as well. i've cancelled my crafter account, and have my main on a month to month subscription now.
SWG used to be the most important thing in my life. i'd spend all day at work surfing the forums, and other than about 6 hours for sleeping, i'd spend all my time at home in front of the computer playing SWG. luckily about 3 months ago i met a very special young lady, and we are very much in love, and because of this, and my desire to spend time with my new most important thing in life, i've cut back on SWG so i can spend more time with her.
first and foremost, take care of your personal life. get everything back in order, as the love of a good woman is one of the most important things you can ever have in this life.
take care, and good luck

She's only got 18 months left... going to have to persuade her to get a Masters in something I think
I'm in the same boat. But for the past 6 months i've only been playing while she's at work or passed out. On occasion she'll let me play while she's here and conscious but not too aften.
Good luck Plunk, Gorath will be a lonlier place without you.
I have the same "problem"... except I also have 2 kids running around! Kinda hard to keep the peace when I'm in a galaxy far,far away.
I was actually read the riot act the other day! I was doing good on my promise to only play after the kids were in bed, then RotW came out...
It was like having a new toy, I just wanted to play with it all the time. So after a good talk, I know understand what I didn't see through my rose colored glasses.
Get things straight at home then come back occaisonallyand see whats going on in SWG.

Wise words... Best of luck Plunk! I know a few people who have left for the same reason in the past.
Fortunately for me, my wife also plays SWG.
Honestly, neither of us play much at all on the weekends, as we spend the time doing other things with each other.
I'm lucky in that my wife works shifts, so I get to play when she's at work. That and I have an 'on-going research interest' in cyber communities and virtual worlds. I reckon I can spin that one out for another few months before the questions about 'isn't it time you started writing up' begin....
Take care,
make sure you spend time making sure you're spending time doing the right stuff,
and we'll be thinking of you.
Best wishes,
Ken
