the afk grind gets me about 85k xp and hour or so, not fast but better than nothing. i just go to tat and set up an old fashioned auto attack macro that has harvest in it. I find a low level mob spawn point and just let it run. even if you kill a level one, you get 68 xp points for harvesting, this done 2 times a minute or more, and you have plenty of xp by the time i come home from school.

Is there any point in keeping Master Ranger if you're going for jedi?
Ranger takes up so much sp, that if you master one other combat prof, it leaves you with only 4 extra sp. You need to fill in 24 FS boxes to get to the trials, so I'd have to drop one of my Masters very soon. If i were to drop Master Pistol, i'd become even weaker in battle (and i'm already pretty weak). And if I dropped Master Ranger, I'd instantly lose 60/150 of my harvesting xp.
The reason I want to keep Master Ranger, is because I can get scout xp and weapon xp at the same time hunting mobs. It's worked pretty well so far maxing them both out at about the same time. I also rely on harvesting to pay the bills now that my Doc is a penny-less bum.
I really wish I could stay where i am no, but i just don't have enough skill points.
Question is, should i just go all out combat xp now while i can respec, say, MBH, MCommando? Or stick with MasterPistol/non-Master Ranger and take the huge hit to my harvesting ability? Or is there a better option?
I'm really torn over this as I've wanted to be Master Ranger since day one. But it just doesn't seem practical to go jedi with that template due to the sp cost.

FS xp caps at somewhere around 4 mil even if ou have only 1 box in that tree. Personally I would keep ranger/pistols and just keep converting your xp without training any trees until you cap. Once you cap however, you will have to start dropping skills and respeccing will be over by then. So...*shrug*, choices, choices.

Good point. I had thought about that and you're right. Just in the long term that doesn't really solve my problem.
Here's what I'm thinking. Master Pistol, Master BH, Scout 4/4/4/0, and the rest in disposable Rifle-Marksman that'll be enough to get me through the village. I'll be able to get both scouting and trapping xp, be more formidable in combat with pistols and rifles, and still earn some money (though only about 1/3 what i could before).
Any thoughts?

I would go Pistols, BH, Scout 44xx (Im assuming the 2nd 4 is trapping and not harvesting), and I think you can take 4-5 boxes from carbineer or rifleman. If you drop harvesting you get more sp to play with. My Template is BH, Pistols, Scout 4xxx, and will be either 3x3x carbs or 33xx carbs. The dabbled boxes in carbineer gives me +15 carb speed +20 general ranged accuracy, +5 carb accuracy (for 33xx....this is what I will prolly go for) OR +15 carb speed +15 melee defense +15 ranged defense (for 3x3x). As for scout, I still get cap 75k xp. Having the hunting boxes will only let you harvest more, dosent increase your xp. I wouldnt worry too much about your harvest drop if you hunt in groups as last night I must have gotten 8k hide from two lvl 80 bol missions and I didnt even harvest all the corpses.

Good thoughts about using the scout sp for more combat instead. I'll have to take a closer look at next respec.
As for me, I'm now the lowest form of life in the galaxy, a respeced MBH. Promise I won't kill any jedi and get my second toon from Padawan to work on Ranger again, if i ever get there.

I found that too. And liked it in the beginning. My point is, that Master Ranger and any Master Combat prof only leave you with 4 SP to spend on FS boxes. Which means pretty quickly your going to have to give up one of your masters which means you're CL will drop quickly and you'll drastically lose your ability to harvest (60 of the max150 harvesting points are in master alone), or you'll lose your master combat rating and won't be able to kill anything. I need a template that's going to get me ALL the way through the village, not konk out of my halfway there.
Like I said, I really wish i could stick with MRanger, but I just don't think it's possible.

I have already trained my 4 boxes (well 3, I'm 10k FS xp off last one). I am just gonna bank the the other XP if I can, and then drop and train in one go when the time comes.

Go Master BH/Master Rangeryouwill have enough sp left to get 4 full FS trees and 2 boxes of another and, if fs xp does indeed cap at around 4 mil, you wont have to drop a thing until you have the xp do get your last tree and a half to get paddy.

Going MBH/MR which gives you an 80 combat rating and leaves15 pts left (I think). I have 10 FS boxes and 2 marksman boxes filled. And when I get enough FS the marksman goes away.
And if and when it is time for the final boxes, way bye bye to camping. That should make me a paddywan and still have tracking and traps.

i actually picked up ranger to grind fs. i figured out tthat having 0040 ranger let me cap at 1.2 million and at a conversion rate of 8 to 1, it is the best way to earn fs xp, especially now that i can grind it afk. But that is just me.
