Thread: You Rangers, you don't know how good you've got it...
I agreed last night, against my better judgement, to take the bullet for my mates and BRIEFLY respec down to artisan/chef/random crafter to get a few things done for the guild, like baking up a batch of blob candy and brewing up some drinks. I've got the resources for most of the useful foods, so other than a factory run to get alcohol (I had most of the other bits from a previous chef incarnation) all I'd be doing is generating schematics for later use then respec'ing back up today.
So.
I live all of 750m out of Espa. My uber lvlPooh toon made the long trek across the dunes, c r a w l i n g up hills, suddenly realising just how much I'd got used to TN, dodging all the red dots and wishing I could maskscent...
Placing the factory was a joke. Some idiot rills had spawned near the house and I ended up wandering about for another couple of km to find a spot where I could drop the deed.
Not being able to kill critters was a major headache. The knowledge that EVERYTHING out there could incap me, at least, was scary as heck. What's worse is that when my bantha managed to kill a rill that had got too close, I couldn't harvest!!!
Oh, did I mention that my armour and rifle auto-unequipped? So I was running around in civvies (just to add insult to injury they were +15 to mask/cammo too)
Roll on 5pm so I can get back to 'viability', hehe.
Heh, that's why I respecd back. I couldn't defend myself, or harvest, or use TN, or maskscent / camo.
Why would you ever give up ranger to be a totally non-fighting professions? Rangers are the best in any category except for certain people designing this games minds.

Yeah, we be all kinda uber and l33t.
Running up hills, maskscented, throwing traps. Burstrunning before the rest of the team. Knowing when the beasties are stalking us. Being able to pull a HTFB out my pack. Killing and harvesting my ass off to make money.
I feel so bad for artisans.

Honest reason? I wanted a haircut and all the local MID's had turned overnight into sword weilding psychobunnies. That and I wanted to make a batch of schematics up for brandy, blob candy and a couple of other foods for my guild.
Job done, am now respec'd back up to combat readiness and spend a nice evening plinking witches in kashyyyk. Voodoo doll anyone?
