I tried to use rescue last night but it didn't seem to work. Is it bugged or do I not have a clue?

As I understand it, /rescue is currently broken.
To use /rescue the person being recued needs to /peace and break combat from the creature that is aggroed on them. The requirement for /peace was introduced because it was perceived there was potential for griefing (ie, Rick Rangerly could rush up to Kevin Kraytslayer just as he was about to kill the biggest baddest beasty in the game, spam /rescue and steal poor Kev's krayt. Hmm, yeah. That's going to happen.. Anyhow, moving on....)
The peace command was removed, for some mystical reason, during the CU and as yet it doesn't seem to have made a reappearance. 2 secs, lemme check on that... OK, as of right now on TC there is no chat type: peace.
So, it's not you, it's not /rescue, its /peace thats MIA.
Your options now are to either do more damage to the aggro creature than your potential rescuee is doing OR use brawlers taunt, if that works.

i also noticed in its discription that it says it only works on NPCs, so that might also be something with it......or was it like that befor and i'm a bad ranger for not noticing?

oh cr&b, it doesn't, does it? It USED to be usable against critters and NPC's, pre-CU.
