We are now sitting on DE-10 Components, Scythe Schematics, DXR-6b, Geo Pistol Schematic, Cubes and Agents. If you add up what a weaponsmith, who felt they were prepared for the CU, put into these you can go upwards of 10 to 20 million credits. How to reincorporate these weapons into the game, cuz right now they plan out suck and are not worth the time and effort IMO. Make the DE-10, Scythe and DXR-6b all Master Ranger LVL 54 weapons. Currently they get nothing, no love really for the rangers which is sad. Heck the devs could through some skill mods for (Pistol Speed, Rifle Speed and Two-handed Speed as well as Accuracy). As for the Geo Pistol it could be a Master Doctor weapon, last time I checked Doctor was more geared towards a pistoleer in the middle of combat. Just a thought and idea I've been "cooking" in my head.
I posted this in the weaponsmith forums and weaponsmiths liked this just seeing what the rangers think.

To be honest, the most rangery weapon ive seen is the LD-1 Rifle and if any weapon i would have in the ranger profession i would have that.

One of Naritus' Elite? Here? I had to check to make sure I was in the right forum when I saw your name buzzie.

Now, to your point. There has been much discussion about rangers needing some mods/specials/weapons since we are starting to head the way of the dodo and need to turn that around. On the first two, mods and specials, there is really no disagreement. We ARE a combat prof and could use these with any other weapon prof we choose. On the weapon certs, however, there is no unified voice.
With smugglers, docs, etc. getting weapon certs, we certainly feel shafted. Moreover, given our lack of certs and the fact that WS are left with a pile hard earned components/schems, the Ranger profession seems like a likely place to drop them. And now that the Devs have conceded that we are indeed a combat prof, where are our weapons?!?!
The counterpoint to this, though, is that we have traps, which most of us consider to be our unique weapon. Although borked ATM, many rangers would be far happier to have a robust trapping line as our "weapon" and then be able to compliment our traps with a combat prof of choice. Providing weapon certs starts to pigeon-hole us into certain combat profs which many of us do not like.
As a further point, I would also be pretty peeved at the devs if they tried to appease both WS and Rangers by giving us these weapon certs. I would feel like they were giving us their leftovers and calling it a gift. I would again feel slighted by the Devs who, under this scenario, would still not really be paying attention to us.
So, I completely see your point and it does suck for all the WS who have invested SIGNIFICANT time, money, and effort into acquiring these now semi-useless pieces. But I'm not sure that dropping them on the Ranger proff is the perfect solution. This doesn't mean I don't still like you weapons though

Very true, just trying to figure out a useful way to get these weapons back in the game. Good luck to the Rangers Cryos.

Remember we do get critter 'to hit' bonuses, I am tkm with my ranger so a weapon would really do me no good. More bonuses maybe traps that work on humanoid's as well as critters, we can track said humanoid's, we should be able to trap them, anda 'to hit' bonus on anything we fight.

Good ideas.. it's unfortunate about some of those weapons not being very desirable anymore, but..
Whether Master Doctor, or Master Ranger -- both of them can and probably would choose to master an elite profession. So, MRanger/MRM would still pick the T21.. a MD/MP would have a republic blaster, as would a MRanger/MD.
Laser rifles and FG5s would still be more useful than DXR6's and Geo Pistols, and those are all 54, iirc
I'm indifferent on rangers getting weapon certs... but even with the above mentioned, (unless damage was greatly improved) it would still be the same situation, I think.
Still, as a crafter (MAS/MT/Merchant), I sympathize...
There seems to be a glut of high CL level, but non-master weapons out there.. both crafted, and quest loot. None of them are any use to someone who has mastered a weapon profession.
Personally, I'd like to see certain craftable weapons changed into "skins" or appearance -- certed at master level, and equal in stats to master level weapons. (sort of like tantel, mabari and Ubese armor... they're all recon, all with equally craftable stats, but are more or less just just appearance.)
But, I don't know if that would help either though, since a DXR6 is harder to make than a T21, I'm guessing. Even with equal damage, why bother making a disruptor rifle when you can make t21s more easily.

Well the E5 carb, the Intimidator and the Alliance Distruptor are all very nice weapons certed out of their core weapon professions and i use them regularaly. If we did get a weapon i would like it on par with these types of weapons.

I would just like to cry over my two sweet de-10s and DX6 all with ADKs that are now junk..
However i just bought a new Laser rifle from Hauker on Shadowfire that totally rocks..
I am new to both Ranger and rifleman and am having a great time (wish some of the specials worked better though)
Well met Rangers!!
