Thread: The Ranger Bible
well for the record, i made a mistake, seems depending on size they can be 8 or 10 limbed. this was Copyrighted in '01.
and let me tell you, SWG should have consulted this book. they left out come cool critters.
oh, and i just flipped to the page concerning "Voorpaks" LOL these things are ridiculous!!!! they are like bulbous Gizmos(from gremlins) but they have 8 spider like legs! its hilarious! and to think we have a likenamed Corr!!! ![]()
I recently ordered this to (took the freeshipping method so i won't get it for a week or so) I was interested in it for the artwork I love starwars artwork when done well. But form what you say it also has alot of good fluff type information that my ranger character could use when talking with guildies and such
makes me more excited about it
well, there were lots of cool critters that were left out, and even some that would have made GREAT mounts. Like the Guarlaras, related to the Gualamas, but bigger, and more horselike, with Trojan-esque type maines, and they are black. Hair feet, like Clidesdales(sp?) and long hairy tails. Really cool animals.
Also, the Peko Peko Albatross, does not exist. I believe the DEVs adapted that instead of having to make the real legendary Naboo avian. the Titavian or Goffbird. This thing is HUGE! Wingspan of like 120meters. It's so big it can't take off from the ground. It only perches on high places, usually near the Coast, so it can 'fall' and take to the air. It's a gungan warrior rite to try and get the feahters from the massive bird. those are the feathers used on their Kaduu saddles and such.
It's got a cool textured "dewback hide" cover and it's written as if it were a field naturalist or ranger's notebook.
Nice color drawings and anatomy details.. Seeing what a sarlaac looks like below the sand is... interesting.
You can look at the cover and a few pages of the book on amazon.com but that doesn't really do it justice.
8 limbs? well no wonder I trouble kneecapping him...![]()
keep it coming.
It will be nice to put pictures to some of the species I have read about in the books
