well for the record, i made a mistake, seems depending on size they can be 8 or 10 limbed. this was Copyrighted in '01.

and let me tell you, SWG should have consulted this book. they left out come cool critters.

oh, and i just flipped to the page concerning "Voorpaks" LOL these things are ridiculous!!!! they are like bulbous Gizmos(from gremlins) but they have 8 spider like legs! its hilarious! and to think we have a likenamed Corr!!!

She will claim it is a coincidence, but I know Paks loved those little freaks so much that she named herself after them .

I recently ordered this to (took the freeshipping method so i won't get it for a week or so) I was interested in it for the artwork I love starwars artwork when done well. But form what you say it also has alot of good fluff type information that my ranger character could use when talking with guildies and such

makes me more excited about it

well, there were lots of cool critters that were left out, and even some that would have made GREAT mounts. Like the Guarlaras, related to the Gualamas, but bigger, and more horselike, with Trojan-esque type maines, and they are black. Hair feet, like Clidesdales(sp?) and long hairy tails. Really cool animals.

Also, the Peko Peko Albatross, does not exist. I believe the DEVs adapted that instead of having to make the real legendary Naboo avian. the Titavian or Goffbird. This thing is HUGE! Wingspan of like 120meters. It's so big it can't take off from the ground. It only perches on high places, usually near the Coast, so it can 'fall' and take to the air. It's a gungan warrior rite to try and get the feahters from the massive bird. those are the feathers used on their Kaduu saddles and such.

Yeah, this book is really great. My wife got it for me for Christmas..

It's got a cool textured "dewback hide" cover and it's written as if it were a field naturalist or ranger's notebook.

Nice color drawings and anatomy details.. Seeing what a sarlaac looks like below the sand is... interesting.

You can look at the cover and a few pages of the book on amazon.com but that doesn't really do it justice.

I just purchased a very cool book: The Wildlife of STAR WARS: A Field Guide.

It's a large hardback book, not very thick, but has a pretty cool scaley hide texture to the whole cover. It's a little pricey at $40 USD. but so far a very cool book. I'm sure some have seen this before, but probably most haven't. I myself can say this is the FIRST Star Wars book i've ever purchased. I'm really looking forward to reading through it. It's also got great ArtWork. the very first Section, is on Bantha's and is very extensive and intersting.

Oh, and yes, Greater Krayt Dragons are supposed to have 8 limbs. I'll keep you guys posted when i find other cool facts and stuff.

Lol...I expect you to find all sorts of inconsistancies! For the record, an 8 limbed Krayt would look silly.
