Thread: MRanger + Rifles or BH

Hey all i am A master Swordsman now, but i think it will feel a lot more Star Warsy if i used a gun. I like swords but i think it's time for something new. Anyways i noticed a lot of Rangers use the BH or Rifles with their Ranger Template. (also some don't take up master, but do dabble in pistoleer and Carbines and stuff instead). Anyone have any advantages and disadvatages on these, all i have ever been is swords, so i think a new class would be fun.

BH is popular because it only requires one line of marksman. If you go rifles you will have 4 left-over points. If you go BH you will have 18 left-over points. I haven't played enough in either post-CU to tell you whether one is better game play wise however.

Rifles are awesome, I wouldn't be anything else.
But... I tend to get incapped a LOT whenever we're grouped and doing a cave or someplace where prone/cover/concealed isn't applicable. The whole group comes after me (i have the best range, i get the first shot in) and keeps pounding and pounding and pounding... Melee defense isn't so hot and the only time one of them stops pounding on me is if another party member does more damage, and advanced head shot does some good damage.
I usually end up running around with burstrun and the whole spawn chasing me, and the party chasing the spawn. 
Maybe I just have weak party members, not sure. But it seems to always end up with that happening. I've been tempted to use weaker shots to do less damage so I can live longer.

I went ahead and Picked up M BH SL 0300. I did this because as i progress up FS i can drop SL skills, and then i only have to drop a few skills (Bh or Ranger) to be completely FS (and get my second character). But thanks for the suggestions.
